Flo-mate pumps from Stuart Turner are a simple way to boostincoming mains water without the need for a break tank. As
many residents of older mansion blocks in London know onlytoo well, getting a decent flow at peak times can be very
difficult. At times when mains pressure is insufficient, Flo-matewill deliver a minimum 1.5 bar at 12 litres a minute, meeting the
needs of most unvented boilers.Flo-mate has a built in bypass so when mains pressure
exceeds 1.5 bar, performance is not restricted and will enter thesystem. The pump starts automatically when a flow rate of one
litre per minute or more exists and it has been designed inaccordance with UK water regulations.
Flo-mate will be showcased at this year’s PHEX events butyou can also find out more at www.stuart-turner.co.uk. Itcomes with a two-year guarantee and is supported by Pump

There’s no doubt about it: times are tough in the
bathroom industry which has been hit by a triple
whammy of recession, a slow down in home
building and a shortage of mortgage funds that prevents
consumers from moving and improving. The recent
announcement that AW Andes is ceasing its distribution
operation to retail highlights the difficulties in trading
conditions.
“Distribution is a specialist arena,” says Ideal
Bathrooms’ Commercial Director Danielle Lillis. “That’s
why Ideal Bathrooms concentrates solely on this sector.
We supply retailers and merchants in the traditional route
to market and our success is down to exceptionally high
levels of customer service coupled with marketing
initiatives to help customers maximise market potential.
We do not sell on the internet but use modern
communication channels to promote sales and direct
potential buyers to our customers’ outlets.”
This exceptional service includes next day deliveries to
99 percent of the country including outlying areas, a huge
£6 million plus stockholding of over 15,000 different
product lines, a commitment to big brands, keen prices, a
delivery fleet of over 50 vehicles and an enthusiastic and
knowledgeable sales office and field sales teams.
The “An Ideal World” year-long promotion has also
been very popular with customers, with monthly VIP
prizes sponsored by key suppliers and instant win scratch
cards. VIP prizes include attendance at some fantastic
sporting events and imaginative, luxury holiday
weekends to destinations across the world. The latest VIP
prize winners in the “An Ideal World” promotion are
Michael Fuller of Gibbs and Dandy, Slough, who is now
looking forward to a trip to the famous Oktoberfest in
Munich sponsored by Grohe, and Kal Patel of Aqualite
Trading, Wembley who won a luxury weekend in Paris
courtesy of Saniflo.
A key feature of the campaign is to raise £20,000 for
the groups’ 2012 charity – Barnardo’s – with 25p
donated by Ideal Bathrooms for every delivery made of
each month’s sponsor’s products, together with proceeds
from a host of other charity activities organised by Ideal
Bathrooms’ staff.
Another innovation to assist retailers is the Ideal
Bathrooms premium brand strategy. “The premium
brand strategy is not confined to specialist top
showrooms either,” says Ideal Bathrooms’ Retail Sales
Director Richard Taylor. “Showrooms with a mid-market
customer base are also adding luxury displays to attract
new business potential as more people are improving
their homes, so working with our key brands we are also
broadening the market for them through this strategy.
Similarly mid to upper market brands are also
experiencing sale growth into the luxury sector as an
add-on to sales through existing showrooms. The
strategy is helping many of our existing suppliers
penetrate into new market sectors.”

“Ideal” Partnerfor Showerlux
In a major new amalgamation, Ideal
Bathrooms has secured an exclusive
distributorship for Showerlux branded
products in the UK. Although the UK
operating company has closed down,
the brand will now continue to be
available in the UK through Ideal
Bathrooms. “Following the
unfortunate closure of the Showerlux
UK operation, we entered into
negotiations with Duscholux who
manufactured almost all Showerlux’s
products that were sold in the UK,”
says Ideal Bathrooms’ Commercial
Director Danielle Lillis. “In effect Ideal
Bathrooms will now perform a similar
operation importing from the
manufacturer to supply merchants
and retailers. This reflects the current
trend for global sourcing – a key
feature of Ideal Bathrooms 2012 “An
Ideal World” campaign.”
A major element in the exclusive
distribution agreement will be a
comprehensive review of price points
and customer discounts which will be
completely realigned to be fully
competitive for the marketplace and
to offer improved margins for retailers.
The range will focus solely on shower
enclosures and will continue to offer
high quality and great design. It will
now benefit from Ideal Bathrooms’
renowned customer service including
next day deliveries which are available
on all Ideal Bathrooms’ 15,000 plus
stock product lines.
“I am delighted that Ideal Bathrooms
is able to keep the Showerlux name
alive and to have the opportunity to
develop it back to its former glory as a
big brand again,” adds Danielle. “The
enclosure arrangements fit perfectly
with our existing product portfolio
and particularly with our strategy to
grow the showering section of our
business. The Showerlux brand is in
safe hands for now and the future.”
Ideal Bathrooms offersnext day delivery to 99percent of the countrywith their delivery fleetof over 50 vehicles.

Shown on our front cover, the innovative Verso range from Inta featuresenergy saving technology, making efficient use of hot water simple by forcingusers to consciously push further for an increased flow rate and hotter water.
The Verso basin mixer has already proven popular, thanks to its sleekdesign and impressive green credentials. The control handle gives the optionof a reduced flow rate, requiring users to lift past the first click for full flowoperation, with a maximum flow rate of five litres per minute. Users are alsoable to set a maximum temperature for the tap by altering the position of thecartridge stop ring, allowing for ultimate control over water and energysavings, ideal for both domestic and commercial settings.01889 272180www.intatec.co.uk

Wall mounted electronic mixers show just how closely linked exclusive design, functionality and technologicalexpertise are at Axor. “We have developed an intelligent solution that combines sensor technology and our wallmixers’ exclusive design,” commented Axor product manager Stefanie Pfaff. The new electronic wall mixers are partof the Axor Citterio and Axor Uno2 collections. Electronic wall mixers in the two collections offer different designlanguages: in Axor Citterio we see shiny surfaces and precise, linear contours and in Axor Uno2 we see a minimalist, slimline design. Both have two spout lengths.
These ingenious mixers have sensor windows integrated into the underside of the spout. They cannot be seenby the user and do not impair the mixer’s visual appeal. At the same time, this is an extremely functional position forthe sensor, which can be intuitively operated - the sensor is automatically activated when users place their handsunder the spout. Electronic mixers are extremely hygienic due to their contact-free operation. Like all Axor basinmixers, the new electronic mixers are fitted with EcoSmart technology, which limits the water flow to five litres perminute without impairing the functionality. The sensor control itself saves even more water and energy due to theshort run-on time of around 1-1.5 seconds. This ensures that the water is only flowing if it is actually required.01372 465655www.hansgrohe.co.uk

Matki has introduced the New Illusion Collection. The Collection
includes three impressive enclosures, a Recess door, Corner
enclosure and a Quintesse. The enclosures combine minimal framing
with elegant chrome details offering the beautiful illusion of showering behind
frameless glass.
The 8mm solid safety glass is cleverly held in place by Matki’s Non-Slip
Hinge supporting the glass time after time for a flawless closure. The beautiful
new handle is the perfect complement to the large glass panels. The Soft
Return handle is not only easy to use and functional, it provides a sense of
stunning continuity between hinge and handle.
The glass is innovatively recessed into the tray with a water tight seal,
eliminating the need for silicon sealant along the glass and tray junction and
providing a seamless look between glass and tray. The New Illusion Corner
and Recess comes with integral low level tray or alternatively can be ordered
to go directly on to a tiled floor or on a tray such as Matki’s new Preference
Shower Tray.
One of the main features of the new Matki Preference Shower Tray is its
complete adaptability and flexibility to fit into any space. Rich in ground
marble, the premium quality and technologically advanced material make-up
of the Matki Preference Shower Tray gives outstanding durability and a tough
fully restorable surface. The tactile semi-matt finish is comfortable, luxurious
and warm to the touch and blends beautifully into any bathroom design.

Sometimes, it’s the thingsyou don’t see that turn abathroom from ‘boring’
to ‘brilliant’...
Low water pressure is a daily source of irritation and inconvenience to countless people in the UK. It’s
a scourge and it prevents many from enjoying those benefits of a modern bathroom that the rest of
us take for granted. Until now, the ‘traditional’ low water pressure solution, which involves the
installation of a cold water header tank, was both too costly and too inconvenient an exercise for many
potential customers to consider…
The good news is that now, for the first time, an affordable solution to
the problem is available. Salamander’s Home Boost is not only
inexpensive, it’s also easy to install: it’s compact, quiet and – most
importantly – it’s fully compliant with UK water regulations.
As the first plumber to install Home Boost, Scarborough-based Andy
Browne was impressed immediately. “It really does have the look and feel
of quality about it”, he said, “and it’s got metal threaded ends so there’s
no plastic to mess about with. To be honest, it’s dead easy to connect:
Home Boost goes after your stop tap, you need a check valve on there,
then a drain-off cock onto the pump and finally a full bore isolation valve.
Any plumber could do the job in under an hour.”
Home Boost applies leading-edge micro-technology to an old, old
problem: it is quick, efficient and comparatively inexpensive. Home Boost
is a compact unit, which can be fitted under the kitchen sink after the
stopcock, with a simple three-quarter inch thread on the inlet and outlet
of the unit. The electrical connection is via a plug.

UK, comments: “By introducing two new
shower enclosure ranges to the market, we
are responding to increased consumer
demand for showers in the bathroom. This is
a growing trend, driven by increased
awareness of the water and energy savings
that showering can make. RAK Ceramics is
playing a key role in developing products
that meet the growing requirements of
consumers. We continue to support our
dealers by offering well-designed, desirable
products at highly competitive prices.“
Alongside the Premium 6 and Deluxe 8

basins, as well as matching slimline storage
units. All cabinets have a sleek, contemporary
design, a premium gloss acrylic finish and are
available in black or white.Rob Jull, RAK UK’s Managing Director,
explains the rationale behind the new
collection: “It’s not all about price, although
that’s one of the criteria for success,
especially in the current tough economic
climate. Good design is equally important,
as is the ability to source a complete boxed,
quality product, and to ensure reliability of
supply and performance. Add in good after-
sales support and continued product
development and you complete the circle.
Our aim has always been to offer our dealers
the very best value-for-money possible. Our
new shower enclosures and accessories -
along with our existing products - fulfil each
of these criteria at a range of price points to
suit all pockets. And, we’re confident that
this will provide a unique sales opportunity
for both our valued, existing partners and
for new customers too.”

Although just about every home
in Scandinavia has a sauna, the
idea has not really taken off here -
despite the therapeutic benefits.
Part of the reason is space -
especially in apartments where
there isn’t a garden or garage
where the cabin can be sited.
Duravit has solved the problem with Inipi, a compactsauna specially designed for home installation. Designed incollaboration with EOOS, the Inipi Super B compact saunameasures just 120 by 120cm and will accommodate oneuser in comfort. There is also a larger two-person modelthat measures 240 by 120cm. Inipi features a stone controlmotif - a cultural reference to North American Indians whosat around heated stones in their sweat lodges - or inipi. The panel is integrated laterally at the front of the saunaand is used to adjust the temperature, the heater timerand the digital hourglass. During the rest phase an ecofunction saves energy, reducing the temperature in thesauna by up to 20ºC. A button can be used to control thefunction that pours water over the hot stones.
The cabin itself is a wooden frame glazed at the front.None of the technology is visible as the sauna stones andheater are hidden behind a panel. The Super B compacthas an adjustable backrest and horizontal louvres with LEDlights. Benches are arranged on two levels and are longenough to lie down on in the larger model. The exterior isavailable in white or dark American walnut. Both saunavariants come as corner and back to wall models. Thelarger model can be installed freestanding in the centre ofa room. Duravit say that the saunas take about two hoursto install.
The Kaldewei Comfort Select operating panel has an electronic controlunit, a drain and overflow fitting and a shower hose. The panel integratesinto the rim of the bath and allows precise selection of the required watertemperature. The temperature is correct right from the start - there is no
need to run the filler for a while. The panel also regulates thewater inlet and outflow.Freestanding baths can befilled using a special KaldeweiComfort Select fitting.
