    The Waunakee Public Library has teamed up with local businesses to celebrate NationalLibrary Card Sign-Up Month. Use your Library Card as a pass to savings the whole month ofSeptember! Show your library card at participating businesses to receive promotions anddiscounts. Don't have one? Stop in at 710 South Street to sign up!

    The Eighth Annual Cars in the Park will be held at Waunakee Village Park on Saturday,September 15 from 8am-3:00pm. This event is open to car enthusiasts entering their

    vehicle and community members interested in checking out all of the top-notch entries. Carscan be registered on site beginning at 8am for a fee of $10.00. This year includes the KaiserFrazer Owners Club International. Stop by to check out their cars produced from 1946-1955. There is no fee for spectators, but donations for the local food pantry are encouraged.Cars will be judged by participant's choice and awards will be presented at 3pm. The Waunakee Public Library is hosting "Waunakee Talks: Working Together to PreventSuicide" on Tuesday, September 18th from 6:30-7:30pm. September is globally recognizedas Suicide Prevention Awareness Month, and the 2018 theme is "Working Together toPrevent Suicide". Meet at the Library, 710 South Street in Waunakee, for an engagingconversation about suicide prevention, focusing on how we can all work together to increaseprotective factors, reduce stigma, and create a community that is understanding andsupportive of mental health issues. Participants will leave with resources and information thatcan help them support friends, colleagues, peers, and loved ones. Suicide is a leading causeof death nationwide, however it is preventable! By learning together, we can save lives.

    The Village of Waunakee and Town of Westport will hold an Open House for proposedchanges to speed limits and stop signs along Woodland Drive and Peaceful Valley Parkwayon September 19th, 6-7pm at the Waunakee Village Center. The open house will be held toreceive input and comments from residents on items including but not limited to speed limits,stop signs, pedestrian crossings, and other public safety issues.

    Friends of Waunakee Performing Arts invite you to the 10th Anniversary A Fine ArtsBenefit at the Waunakee High School Performing Arts Center, 301 Community Drive,on Saturday, September 22 at 7:00pm. The performance will feature Waunakee Alumni,Jeremy Henning, Jennifer Johnson and Dan Collins. General admission: $15 Adults, $10Students and Senior Citizens Tickets will be sold at the Waunakee High School box office,Ace Hardware, Hometown Pharmacy, Waunakee Senior Center and at the door. For moreinformation call 849-2100 x2801. Octopi Brewing Company is turning 3, and in true Wisconsin fashion, they are throwing anAnniversary Party to celebrate! Join them on Saturday, September 22nd from 12-9pm at1131 Uniek Dr in Waunakee. They will be hosting a full day of fun activities for the wholefamily, including face painting and a bounce obstacle course for the younger ones; an onsitephoto 'booth' for plenty of photo opportunities; and a dunk tank, with the chance to 'Dunk aBrewer.' Enjoy yard games and live music from 2-9pm, ending with The Old Soul Society.Don't forget to grab a bite to eat from the onsite food truck, complete with a new menu just forthe day; the returning Good For You Pizza or new this year Sabor Queretano, serving updelicious Mexican specialties. Village of Waunakee staff will be observing National Voter Registration Day by offeringregistration to new voters, voters who have moved, and voters who have changed theirnames on Tuesday, September 25 from 9am-6:30pm at the Village Center, 333 S. MadisonStreet in Waunakee. How do you know if you need to register? Visit the website to searchyour name and date of birth. If the search is successful in locating your information and yourname and current address are correct, you don't need to do anything more...unless, ofcourse, you move or change your name between now and Election Day on November 6,2018. If the search is unsuccessful, then most likely you will need to register. You need toprovide a proof of residence document when registering which includes your current nameand residential address in the Village of Waunakee: a valid State of Wisconsin driver licenseor ID, real estate tax bill, bank statement, paycheck, residential lease, or utility bill. Avoiddelays and long lines on Election Day and take this opportunity to register ahead of time!

Wisconsin Manufacturers & Commerce (WMC) is partnering with Johnson FinancialGroup to find the Coolest Thing Made in Wisconsin. The 3rd annual contest is meant tohighlight Wisconsin's vibrant and diverse manufacturing industry and the the jobs itcreates. A myriad of products get nominated across the Badger State ranging from cheese,boats, food carts, iron castings, beer, motors, snow blowers and much more. Chambermember, RenewAire has an entry on the list! The contest begins with a popular vote todetermine the Top 16 products, voting is open now! From there, the Top 16 will be placed intoa bracket-style tournament called, Manufacturing Madness. Products will compete againstone another in head-to-head match-ups and the products who receive the highest votes ineach match-up will advance to the next round. The winner will be announced on Oct. 9 atWMC Foundation's State of Wisconsin Business & Industry Luncheon at the Monona TerraceCommunity and Convention Center in Madison. Ifyou live, work or play in the Greater Madison Region, help future leaders learn what is mostimportant to you! Take the 10-minute online survey to share your views on how the regionshould grow and develop. The online survey shows four alternative futures dealing withhousing, jobs, transportation, roads, rural preservation, water and the environment.Residents can choose from alternative futures focusing on innovation, conservation,community and self-reliance and provide their opinion on how the region should grow.
