A lesson in India
Many of my friends from western universities take their students on tours to places important and interesting, from their studies subject matter point
of view. Political scientists visit refugee camps in Sudan, psychologists visit
places that have been hit by earth-quakes, ethnographers study villages in Kenya. I have envied them. It’s like letting your students eat a meal instead
of describing it. An idea that we could also do this started sprouting in my
mind. Social policy, which we teach at PUE is made for fieldwork teaching–saysdr PiotrMichoń,coordinatorofthesocialpolicyfieldofstudyandmastermindbehindthetrip.

Professional advice Get to know people and take care of acquaintances, because there is great value in building your own network of contacts. Participate in events, which there are plenty of in Poznań. Redexperts organizes the “Projektor” workshops. The main idea behind them is popularizing entrepreneurship among young people. Exchange business cards on startup meetings, get connected through LinkedIn and Goldenline. These contacts may not be useful today, but in five years may prove invaluable. Networking, networking, networking.

I always wanted to be an entrepreneur. I wanted to develop skills needed for this since day one. As a gift for my 18th birthday, my parents got me a limited liability company and I thought that the best place to learn how to run a business would be a school of economics.
breaks, i.e. free time between classes. It was the best time for conversations, discussions and making friends. It is amazing how often these acquaintances are useful in business.
look at my business from a broader perspective. Many things can be learnt by practice, but the theoretical foundations (especially from economic and business areas) are essential and should be learnt from the best.
take a three-month vacation and worry about nothing. Currently, Redexperts employs about 40 people. I would like to see all of them, or even more, when I come back, and find out thay they all have something to do.
When you're an entrepreneur, you’re at work all the time, but I try not to overdo it. The little time I have off work I spend with my children and friends. I'm also a pilot so my favourite activity is taking to the skies – for a walk on the clouds.

Thereare658thousandproffesionallyactivewomenintheWielkopolskare-gion,ofwhich583thousandareem-ployedand75thousandare“betweenjobs”.Incomparison,thereare739thousandproffesionallyactivemen.In Poland, this ratio has been lower for women than for men for years-saysdrBahaKalinowska-SufinowiczformtheDepartmentofMacroeconomicsandHistoryofEconomicThought.This is due to the fact that a large group of women still take on the traditional role of a housewife. Yet, we have more profesionally active women than other countries. The reason for this is lower pay. We cannot afford to quit our jobs after having a child, for example-saysthePEUexpert.Mostwomen(nearlya thirdoftheregion’sfemaleresi-

Pay in the services sec-tor is pretty low, and these jobs require being at the employer’s disposal most of the time. This in turn leads to lower childbirth rates in our already aging community-sheadds.
