Real Club de Golf la Herrería:

this golf course was founded in 1968 and is located to the north of madrid, in the beautiful San lorenzo de el escorial. it

is surrounded by a Holm oak forest and has amazing views of the area and of the spectacular ‘monasterio de el escorial’

– a famous 16th century monastery well worth visiting. the Golf Course is a par 71 and has hosted many Spanish national

professional tournaments.

Golf Santander:

this superb 18-hole par 72 golf course is located 10 miles west of madrid’s city centre. it was designed by mr. rees Jones and

in 2010 it was ranked in Golf digest top 100 golf courses in the world, outside the united States. it has 6 different tee-off

points for golfers of all levels, going from 7500 yards from the back tee to 5344 from the front one.

El encín Golf:

one of europe’s longest golf courses and one of the last designs of the reputed mr. robert von Hagge before he passed

away. it is a par 72 with wide fairways, perfect bunkering and vast undulated greens. el encín is located 20 miles from ma-

drid and hosts the madrid masters, a regular tournament of the european tour.

La faisanera Golf:

designed by two-time winner of the Green Jacket José maría olazábal, la faisanera is near the historic town of Segovia and

55 miles from madrid by motorway. the golf course is set within an old hunting reserve with stunning views of the Sierra

de Guadarrama mountain range. after a round of golf, you can enjoy a spot of lunch and try some of the local specialties.

Club de Golf lomas bosque:

beautiful par 72 Golf Course just 15 miles from the centre of madrid. Set in an unrivalled location, the first nine holes of

the course are surrounded by trees and undulating fairways which make for some fun golf whereas the second half of the

course is much flatter and has a large lake that will come into play for quite a few holes.d

Finca Cortesín:

finca Cortesin boasts a magnificent par 72, 18-hole golf course

by one of the world’s leading golf course architects, Cabell

robinson. the course was designed to incorporate the area’s

original flora and fauna. at nearly 7,500 yards, this is one of

the longest golf courses in europe and it is also proud to be

home to a Jack nicklaus Golf academy.

Almenara Golf:

designed by dave thomas, the golf course consists of 27

holes allowing you to enjoy up to three different 18-hole

combinations, all with a par of 72, so that each game is a new

challenge for the player. the fairways stretch across some

exceptionally beautiful natural landscapes, amidst two large

lakes surrounded by pine and cork oak trees, which take on a

singular prominence.

Real Club de Golf Guadalmina:

established in 1959, Guadalmina has two 18 hole golf courses.

the South Course is the oldest (1959) and is beautifully laid

out with narrow fairways that are well protected by mature

trees. the north Course (1973) has more water obstacles requi-

ring straight drives down the middle of the fairways.

Valderrama Golf Club:

par 71 Championship Course, designed by Sir robert trent Jones.

valderrama is considered by many as the best golf course in Conti-

nental europe. it hosted the ryder Cup in 1997 and has also hosted

several international tournaments such as the volvo master or one

of the world Golf Championships (1999 and 2000). it hosts the

andalucia masters, regular tournament of the european tour.

Real Club de Golf de Sotogrande:

another pearl of Sir robert trent Jones in the south coast of Spain.

Sotogrande is a marvellous golf course surrounded by mature

vegetation with pine, cork oaks, eucalyptus and giant palm trees

enhancing the natural beauty of the surroundings. its 18 hole par

72 has hosted international championships and it is often conside-

red one of the top ten golf courses in Continental europe.

La reserva de Sotogrande:

la reserva Golf Club is a magnificent facility featuring an ex-

tensive 18-hole par 72 course designed by Cabell robinson along

with a spectacular clubhouse. the golf course opened for play

in august 2003 and is already considered one of the best cour-

ses in europe. the rest of the facility opened on 21 July 2004.

Atalaya Golf:

Set against the stunning backdrop of the Sierra blanca moun-

tains, its two magnificent 18-hole courses - the atalaya old

Course and the atalaya new Course - are lined with mature

eucalyptus trees, cactus, palm trees and pink and white azaleas

that fill the air with an intoxicating, unforgettable scent.

Novo Sancti petri:

novo Sancti petri was the first golf course in Spain designed

by Severiano ballesteros. the course has a total of 36 holes

distributed into two 18-hole courses plus 18 holes newly added

in 2007 (Campano Course). there is also a pitch & putt course

with a spacious adjacent driving range. many people still

consider it to be Severiano’s masterpiece. the first 27 holes

were opened in 1990. the remaining 9 holes were inaugurated

in april, 2001.

Las estancia Golf:

the course, located within a wholly natural environment, is a

72 par that is peppered with protected areas which have been

respected in the design of the course and which highlight its

beauty, encouraging the player to use different strategies for

each hole. it is a course which players of all handicaps can en-

joy, and that presents different challenges for each level of play.

Lomas de Sancti petri:

lomas de Sancti petri is a beautiful challenging course in a

gorgeous natural environment. its narrow fairways force

players to think about every shot and strategy becomes crucial

for signing a good scorecard.

Montecastillo:

designed by Jack nicklaus, it is considered one of the best

courses in europe. Continued maintenance and improve-

ments carried out recently have consolidated this image. it is

an ideal course for both beginners and experienced players.

all golfing enthusiasts should play it and enjoy its spectacular

holes. its par 72 eighteen holes have hosted important tourna-

ments of the european and Spanish national tours.

Arcos Gardens:

it is a spectacular par 72 course with wonderful views of the

surrounding areas during a round of golf on impeccable track.

it was designed to be challenging for professionals yet also

proving to be a wonderful experience for amateurs. the 5 sets

of tees on every hole along with strategically placed bunkers

and lakes to protect the greens provide the player with count-

* el valle: par 71 course located in a desert valley. Surroun-

ded by desert plants and natural rocks, the el valle course

is a unique part of the nicklaus Golf trail.

* la torre: par 68 built around three lakes. it has four

sets of tees, ensuring that this course can be played by

moderate golfers with high handicaps whilst remaining

challenging for more experienced golfers.

* Condado de alhama: at 7528 yards, it is the longest cour-

se in murcia’s nicklaus trail. its five lakes, perfect bunke-

ring, side fairways and its fast undulating greens make it a

real challenge for all golfers.

* Saurines de la torre: par 72 desert style golf course with

undulating fairways and greens. it doesn’t have many

bunkers but a huge lake bordering the 9th and 18th hole

guarantees a very challenging ending.

* mar menor village Golf: this demanding par 72 started

off as a nine hole golf course designed by dave thomas

which was then extended to 18 holes in 2009, the second

nine were designed by nicklaus. the extension included a

large lake with stunning white sand bunkers leading down

to the waters’ edge.

La manga Club:

3 spectacular 18 hole golf courses within the same resort.

* South Course: par 73. designed in 1971 by robert d. put-

man and remodelled in 1992 by arnold palmer. located in

the centre of the valley, with wide palm-fringed fairways

and water hazards that come into play on 15 of the 18

holes, the South Course holds few hidden dangers. it has

hosted important european tour tournaments.

* north Course: par 71. another robert d. putman design.

it is an undulating championship course that stretches out

between palm trees, lakes and ‘barrancas’. these natural

storm gullies feature on all three golf courses and add

an extra dimension to the game. Slightly shorter than the

South, with tighter fairways and larger greens, the north

Course offers a different, yet no less challenging, round of

golf.

* west Course: par 72. Set amid serene pine woodlands, the

west Course’s design closely follows the natural contours

of the undulating land. its distinct character makes it a

Oceanico Golf offers seven Championship courses in the algarve.

Faldo Course: the oceanico faldo Course has an arizona desert feel, especially with the beautiful terracotta colour of the earth.

this championship course demands careful positioning to score well and fulfils nick faldo’s design objective of being a challen-

ging course.

Victoria: the championship oceanico victoria course was designed by arnold palmer, one of the greatest golfing legends.

Several manmade hazards provide challenges for players and the 17th hole, the signature hole, has a total of twelve water cascades

bordering the right side of the hole.

O’Connor Jnr.: the championship oceanico o’Connor Jnr. course features lush landscapes and orange groves in a low lying va-

lley where large areas of lakes and watercourses demand accurate positioning. this course was designed by Christy o’Connor Jnr.

Old Course: this frank pennink designed parkland style layout golf course opened in 1969 and was modernised 27 years later.

it meanders over gently undulating terrain and is renowned throughout the golfing world.

Pinhal: this was the second golf course built in vilamoura, designed by frank pennick and inaugurated in 1976, and is typified

by rolling parkland terrain covered with numerous atlantic pines.

Millennium: this conventional par 72 course opened in the year 2000, and was designed by renowned golf architect martin

Hawtree. with the first holes amongst the pinewoods and a number of hazards the course provides a range of challenges.

Laguna: laid out over low lying coastal terrain, this course, designed by u.S. golf architect Joseph lee, with its many water

hazards and few trees, is considerably different from the other ones in the vilamoura area.
