BIRD, Lucknow International Programme on ‘Financing of Inclusive Agriculture and Rural Development’ at BIRD Lucknow – 20 February 2017 to 10 March 2017 The first International Programme on ‘Financing of Inclusive Agriculture and Rural Development’ (20 Feb. 2017 to 10 March 2017) conducted by BIRD, Lucknow. The programme was inaugurated by Shri HR Dave, DMD, NABARD on 20 February 2017. Shri Dinkar Asthana, Joint Secretary, Ministry of External Affairs, GoI addressed the participants through video conference. Dr. DV Deshpande, Director welcomed the participants. Shri MK Mudgal, CGM, HRMD, Head Office and Dr. PJ Ranjith, Principal, NSBC also addressed the participants. The programme was sponsored by Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC), Ministry of External Affairs, GoI. There was 33 participants from 13 African and Asian countries viz. Bangladesh, Ghana, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Mauritius, Palestine, Sudan, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Uganda, Vietnam and Zimbabwe. As a part of the programme, participants were taken to field visits for exposure to Bank Sakhi Model, Farmers Producers Organisations, SHGs and ICAR Institutions. Interaction of the participants were also arranged with senior officials of Reserve Bank of India, NABARD UPRO and Aryavart Gramin Bank. A Nano Marathon was also organised for the participants in BIRD campus. Interaction of the participants with Indian families residing in the campus also arranged under ‘Family Contact Programme’. A cultural programme was organised by BIRD Sports and Recreation Club for the participants. Programme ended with great learnings and happy note by all the participant.
