ASA News • Job Alert and Summary: DOE Applied Mathematics Program Manager
o The Department of Energy, Office of Science, Office of Advanced Scientific Computing Research (ASCR), is seeking motivated and highly qualified individuals interested in serving as a Program Manager for Applied Mathematics in its Computational Science Research & Partnerships Division. The Applied Mathematics subprogram supports basic research leading to fundamental mathematical advances and computational breakthroughs across the DOE and Office of Science missions. Applicants should have a strong background in applied mathematics and high-performance scientific computing. Applicants should also have a strong understanding of the challenges of computational modeling, simulation, and analysis.
o At this time, a job announcement has not been officially posted. However, interested applicants should monitor the DOE Office of Science jobs website under SC Science Programs Positions - Advanced Scientific Computing Research: http://science.energy.gov/about/jobs#program/ Required materials to be gathered in advance include: transcripts of graduate and undergraduate education, and a resume of education and work experience. § As of now, we have two more funding cycles planned for both the Methods PFA and the regular “Broad” PFA: · Cycle 3 2018 --- opens October 2, 2018
