Biomega: Our PhilosophyImagine the ideal city. If youre like us, that city is clean. Peaceful. Stunning. No less energized than the urban environments in which we currently thrive, but more focused, more pure, and in tune with the natural world. That dream is what drives us in the creation of our urban-landscape-changing bikes. Our goal is to create a paradigm shift in the way society imagines transportation. To compete directly with cars by constructing bikes that are so beautiful that they imbue our cities with new meaning, even as they make us healthier, happier, and more connected than a car ever could. Simply put, our bikes-and the trendsetters who ride them-have the ability to transform the world into a more beautiful place, and to blend our dreams for the future with the needs of the present. Our bikes are meant to usher in a new age in city living. All it takes is one look-and one ride-to understand the difference we can make, as bike, rider, and style become one.

The Soul of Biomega: Our DesignersJens Martin Skibsted (Boston, Copenhagen, AMS)Jens Martin Skibsted founded Biomega in 1998 with a goal of creating furniture for locomotion gallery-quality bikes that change the way we feel about urban transportation. In the decade that has passed since then, his groundbreaking, forward-thinking designs have been displayed at the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and New Yorks Museum of Modern Art, just to name a few. Even more important, Skibsteds designs are being used by city residents around the world as a meaningful alternative to the automobile-a movement focused on clarity that will ultimately lead to a revolution in urban dynamics.

Ross Lovegrove (Bamboo)Ross Lovegrove is sometimes called Captain Organic for the way his designs build upon the principles of evolution and microbiology; simply put, Lovegrove finds inspiration in the clean, organic lines of nature, and builds on that inspiration in his high-tech designs. A pioneer in industrial design and a founder of Studio X, Lovegrove was presented the world technology award by TIME magazine and CNN in November 2005.

Marc Newson (MN)Marc Newson has been on the leading edge of design for more than 20 years. In that time, his innovative thinking has been applied to the design of items ranging from furniture, timepieces, aircraft, restaurant and hotel interiors, to major projects in the transport industry including a sub-orbital spacecraft. The results speak for themselves: In 2005, Newson was named as one of TIME magazines 100 most-influential people in the world. Newsons unique vision is what led to the creation of our class-leading MN line of urban transport bikesa revolutionary bike that grabbed consumer and media attention and shifted the frame of reference for urban bikes. Like our Boston, the MN became an Instant Icon.
