Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is a great pleasure and honor to invite you to the 2nd Serbian Biomarker

This international symposium is arranged to bridge clinical and laboratory work,
emphasizing the importance of teamwork and interactions between all
professionals involved in the ght against diabetes mellitus and personalized
medicine approach. The 2nd SERBIS with the overall theme Biomarkers in diabetes:
analytical and clinical perspectives is intended to display the state of the biomarker
use at the interface between diabetes mellitus and laboratory medicine.
This symposium will bring together international experts who will provide a
comprehensive and up-to-date overview of recent advances in the eld of
integrated biomarker assessment and qualication in the context of diagnosis,
treatment, and prevention of diabetes. Our innovative and original programme this
year promises to be challenging and stimulating as we consider key topics of
interest and concern, covering a range of topical and relevant issues which aect us
all from the laboratory to the clinic.
The most recent advances in the management of diabetes focusing on HbA1c and
new biomarkers will be presented, followed by pharmacogenomic ndings which
will greatly improve the ecacy of diabetes treatment.
We are convinced that SERBIS will be top level educational and scientic event in
our region, giving to the participants an excellent opportunity for education and
chance for improvement of personal achievements. It will oer a unique
opportunity to identify new research ideas and establish collaboration with
colleagues from dierent countries. Also, to keep up to date with Industry partners
who will showcase their latest advances on their booths in bio-technology
innovations, novel assays and therapies in diabetes eld.
