Animal product An animal product is any material

derived from the body of an animal. Examples are fat, flesh, blood, milk, eggs.

Milk and milch animals

Milk is mainly obtained from cows and buffaloes.

Milk products are curd ,ghee , butter , cream and cheese.

The animals which provide milk are known as milch animals.

Poultry farming Poultry farming is the raising of

domesticated birds such as chickens, turkeys, ducks, and geese, for the purpose of farming meat or eggs for food.

Bird flu or avian flu Bird flu or avian flu is a disease that

is caused by a kind of virus that affects poultry birds such as chickens and turkeys .

A bird can get bird flu by coming in contact with faeces, secretions or saliva of a bird having bird flu.

People who come in contact with infected birds may contract the disease

Pisciculture or fish farming

Rearing of fish artificially in tanks and ponds is known as pisciculture.

Fish farming is the principal form of aquaculture.

Apiculture or beekeeping Rearing of bees artificially is known

as apiculture. It is done on a large scale for the

purpose of honey production and other products such as pollen, beeswax and royal jelly.
