The shape of the thing is changed so that it is the same as the shape of the enzyme and can now attach
Enalapril is a competitive inhibitor, as the concentration
of the substrate increases there is still an increase in reaction, so it must be competing rather than changing the enzymes active site
For most normal reactions an increase in temperature
leads to an increase in reaction rate because of the increased energy within the reaction, additional heal means more collisions of molecules. This is only half of the
story for enzyme reactions. At low temperatures there is little enzyme action, this could be down to few
collisions and little energy in the reaction media. There is an increase at around body temperature but then there is a drop off in productivity. This is because enzymes are
denatured (loss of tertiary structure) at extreme temperatures as the bonds between the polypeptide
weaken and break. This change in active site shape means fewer reactions take place

Sucrose is not a reducing sugar so I could do the benedicts test and look for colour change
The reaction can’t go any faster
They have the same shape so it will bind to the active site and prevent ethanol from binding - competitive inhibition

In the healthy man the lactose has been broken down (hydrolysed) by the enzyme lactase to glucose and galactose so over time the concentration of glucose in the blood will increase as this is digested
In the man with lactose intolerance he either has no lactase or it is not working properly so the lactose isn’t hydrolysed to glucose and galactose and there is no increase of glucose in the blood
Polypeptides
Peptide bond
Large moleculethe larger the molecule the more energy it can storeCompactThe more compact the molecule the more it can be stored
Because the muscles need energy
