Reading Work week of May 4-8

Monday: Read the article “Chameleons” and write 5 new facts that you learned.

Tuesday: Reread the article and answer the 5 “right there” questions. Be sure to use a

PQA.

1. How do chameleons communicate with other chameleons?

2. What is a reptile?

3. What makes a chameleon’s eyes special?

4. What two body parts do they use to stay on branches?

5. How long is a chameleon’s tongue?

Wednesday: Follow the directions to make a poof book. If you don’t have the 12x18

paper, you can use a regular sheet of paper. The pages of the book will just be smaller.

Create a nonfiction book about chameleons using the article and set it up as it is in the

directions. Yours will have a table of contents, what they eat, where they live, what they

do and then draw and label a diagram. If you have another way to make a book, you can

certainly do that instead.

Thursday: Listen to the story again and summarize the story in your own words. Be sure

to have a beginning, middle and end. There is an example of how to set it up in the

downloads.

Friday: Listen to the story again and complete the reading response: If you could be any

animal, what animal would you be and tell 2 reasons why you want to be that animal then

illustrate.
