Nucleus

We used a mushroom to represent the nucleus because it has the same circular shape and it was easy to cut to see the inside (Nucleolus).

The nucleus houses the genetic material, which is the brain of the cell.

Cell Membrane

The crust represents the cell membrane. We used crustbecause it is a thinlayer.

The function of thecell membrane is to allow things to go intothe cell, and block things from entering the cell.

Mitochondria

Mitochondria

We used pepperoni for the Mitochondria because the inside of the peperoni looks like the inside of the mitochondria. They both have what looks like squiggly lines in the middle

The mitochondria breaks down food and releases energy to the cell.

Golgi Body

Golgi Body

We used pineapple for the Golgi Body because it is easy to stack and form them to look like the Golgi Body.

The Golgi Body packages and secrets energy.

Lysosome

Lysosomes destroy worn-out organelles, get rid of waste materials, and protect foreign invaders. he cell from

We used peas to represent the lysosome.

Smooth E.R.

Smooth E.R.

The Smooth E.R. moves materials around the cells. (No ribosomes)

We used a green pepper for the Smooth E.R. because we can use the outside of the pepper to show how shiny and smooth it is because it has no ribosomes.

Rough E.R.

Rough E.R.

We used the inside of a green pepper to represent the Rough E.R. because it has the bumpiness to represent the ribosomes

The Rough E.R. moves things throughout the cell.

Cytoskeleton

We used

The function of theCytoskeleton is to protectAgainst wear and tear.

Ribosomes

Ribosomes

We used shredded cheese to represent the ribosomes.

The Ribosomes make the protein for the cell.

Nuclear Membrane

Nuclear Membrane

By: Kaylee Fugate

The Nuclear Membrane functionis that it is a double-layeredMembrane that encloses the nucleus of the cell that controlswhat enters and leaves the nucleus.

We used the outer part of the mushroom becausesince the mushroom itselfrepresents the nucleus, theouter part of it would representthe Nuclear Membrane.

Nucleolus

Nucleolus

We cut open the mushroom to show the inside of the Nucleus. We did this because we could see inside the black part in the middle.

The nucleolus contains RNA.

Cytoplasm

By: Kaylee FugateCytoplasm

The cytoplasm fills the interof the cell.

We used sauce as the Cytoplasm because it fills up the model, and it is the empty space;Like how it is in a cell.
