App Re-designProblem Solution

For this hypothetical project I was given the task to redesign the existing app called Hopscoth. This current app is designed to teach coding to kids or audiences of a younger age. With this the current state of the app seemed to be overcrowded with some complications with the sturcture of tha layout.

The solution to this problem is to first address the current state of information with this app. In the sense that alot of information and nav-igation is simplified. With some pages being combined and the info to nagivate the app to be easier. As well as re-designing the overall color scheme of the app to be more suitable to the younger audience and be more appealing to the eyes.

For this this first step of this project was to map out all of the areas and pages that are present in this already exsisting app. Then to create mockup and outlines of what the new layout and design should look like.

With this the logo and brandmark of Hposcotch was already provided to use in this hypothetical project. The next step of this project was to establish a persona of the target audience for this project as well as start to map out what the new design and layout should look like.

edThis piece was created utilizing the on-line Figma program to format and layout the design work for this app. Within my course I was given the app, Hopscotch and with this already existing concept my assignment was to redesign the whole app. Hopscotch is this interesting game app that teaches children how to code and create their own games while being able to play games that other kids have made. With this I wanted to simplify the original complex and crowded design and I was inspired by the designer Doeun Shin who creates and redesigns other apps.

Through the work of Shin I was inspired to utilize the gradient and color scheme to give it a new but colorful look for the demographic of children ages seven to fifteen. I redesigned eight total app screens and re-organized the pathway to which you cycle through the app pages. I wanted to make everything simple and easy to use as well as colorful and something that chil-dren would want to use and have fun with.
