    Whats All The Hype About?ACC team foreseen to take the national title in january 2013by:Heather Biltoc

    ACC teams are not very profound in BCS National Championship Game timeline.

    Looking at the history of BCS National Championship Game, one can typically guess what team

    has the best chance of going to the championships; as only thirteen teams have made an

    appearance, while only 10 have won at least one of those appearances. This is the year the team

    that is always a threat in the start of the season but falls of the rankings, makes it know they are

    back and ready for another three year appearance streak in the BCS National Championship

    Game, this is the year of the Florida State Seminoles.

    Florida State has appeared in the BCS National Championship a total of three times,

    appearing in the seasons of 1998, 1999, and 2000: only winning the title in the season of 1999

    against Virginia Tech. Even with their ups and downs, Florida State remains a favorite in the

    minds of ESPN sports reporters and several sports analyst this season. With possibly the bestdefensive unit in the nation, defensive end Bjoern Werner, has been setting career high records

    for sacks and tackles for loss (TFLs). Werner leads the ACC in sacks with a total of 6.5 sacks,

    and ranks 19th in Florida State history with 17.0 career sacks and 26.0 TFLs. On the other side

    of the defensive line, Cornellius Tank Carradine has been rolling over quarterbacks with a

    career high for sacks and tackles for loss with 2.5 sacks.

    On the offense, quarterback EJ Manuel is on top of his game with a career completion

    average of 66.6%, putting him in second place all-time on the ACC career-completion-

    percentage list. With the offensive line each weighing over three-hundred pounds and topping

    out at 67, Manuel is protected in the pocket, giving him time to scan his options and deliver the

    ball. Not all credit of offense production goes to Manuel: unstoppable by any team so far hasbeen running back, Chris Thompson, who is not letting his previous back-injury stop him from

    making a comeback this season. Rushing a career-high 197 yards in a single game against Wake

    Forest, Thompson has other teams weary when he steps on the field.

    Although Florida State remains the only ranked team not to let an opposing team score a

    touchdown this season, pressure has been building up for the top ten match up on Saturday,

    September 22, 2012, against #9 Clemson. Having lost to Clemson in 2011, Florida State now has

    revenge on their minds and need to redeem themselves to stay on top. If the Seminoles were to

    lose to Clemson this early in the season, all hopes of Florida State going to the National

    Championship would be wiped from the minds of numerous fans. But with a track record of the

    Clemson-Florida State rivalry, Florida State has only lost a total of three times at home since1970.

    So the odds are in favor of Florida State, but as all sports followers know, it all comes

    down to the fourth quarter. It is too early in the season to be certain as to which teams will be

    facing off in Miami at the 2012 BCS National Championship Game, but Head Coach Jimbo

    Fisher has his team focused and ready to take down any opposing team, one game at a time.

    Come January of 2013, you will see the Seminoles take back the title of National Champions.

    The over-looked side of televisionespn proves they arent just serious about sports coverage

    Commercials are typically ignored by the viewer when watching television. Usuallyinformative and meaningless to the audience, commercials tend not to be recognized in the world

    of media. One television network is known for the their catchy commercials changing every

    season, never boring the viewers, and are constantly entertaining.

    ESPN isnt just known for their sport coverage and constant sports news updates, they are

    also very well known for their production of College Game-Day. A national football tradition

    that made its first appearance in 1987, is now the way football fans start their Saturday mornings.

    Analysts spend three hours discussing key match-ups, highlights, and expectations for the games

    all leading up the final ten minutes in which the favored, Lee Corso reveals his picks for the day

    and unveils his final pick with a mascot outfit.

    As much as the program itself is a tradition for football fans of America to watch, theindividual Game-Day commercials are a program themselves that people look forward to seeing.

    Anticipating the day their football team is used in the commercial, who is used to represent the

    team, and what twist ESPN uses to bring a smile to the viewers each time it is shown. Without

    these commercials to liven up the mood of ESPN throughout the day, viewers wouldnt be able

    to see the humorous and joyous side to the network.

    The commercials can be referred to as parodies of program traditions and rituals, but as

    much as fans are in love with the traditions themselves, they are also in love with the idea of

    ESPN mocking them. From the Texas A&M Aggies Midnight Yell to the Florida State helmet

    stickers, with the catch phrase no free rides Corso, the commercials continue on year-to-year

    growing to be top commercials alongside brand commercials such as Budlight, Doritios, Coca-

    Cola, and Levi. But even ESPN has a leg-up on big-name brands; Given they have numerous

    universities to make parodies from and a diverse range of places to shut at. But it is one thing

    that sets these Game-Day commercials apart, the fact that football team are changing each and

    every year. With teams adding new players, new coaches, and new traditions: ESPN is given

    plenty of ideas for their commercials to change year-to-year. Remaining the key to their success

    in producing commercials that bring smiles and laughter to each and every viewer.
