ForewordWhether your company is a startup or global enterprise, it’s no longer enough to provide best in class products and services to be competitive in the marketplace. To achieve growth, consumer loyalty, even employee engagement takes a relentless customer centric approach to your business.
There is a race right now for businesses across all sectors to provide innovative customer experiences for their consumers -one that is multi-channel, personalized, transparent and curated to meet their needs.
To establish a culture of experience excellence, one must start with the simple belief that the key to growth is not about persuading your customers to buy but by inspiring your customers to buy. Cultivating this mindset into a business design your customer will love is no easy task. But with diligent listening to your consumer base and use of proven experience design methods, you can give them what they want - an amazing and differentiating experience.
This portfolio edition provides unique case studies of how I use design and innovation to solve business challenges. I hope you find it informative as you consider my capabilities and experience as a fit for your organization.

How to take a commodity product and price sensitive consumers and create a brand experience that demonstrates a “trade-up”
value proposition while becoming the first mover in the market.
CHALLENGE
Conducting focus groups, interviews and tasting events provided compelling themes that encouraged us to establish an experience
that leveraged complimentary food categories and behaviors.
INSIGHT
The making of a premier chocolate brandChocolate, loved the world over, has experienced a resurgence throughout the decade due to touted health benefits and the craft food movement.
Experience design brought the best of these attributes to light with a twist to offer an extraordinary brand experience.

Chocolate and wine lounge: a match made in heavenUsing the pervasive interest in wine tastings, I designed a tasting lounge that brought together chocolate enthusiasts and wine clubs under one roof, resulting in a first of its kind retail experience for the market.

When a life is on the line at a busy hospital, there is only one priority - the patient. Multiply that by 100 in the course of an hour
and you have a major challenge on your hands. How do you onboard supplemental staff quickly while ensuring you have the
staff ready to support a crisis?
CHALLENGE
We were confident that the existing paper-based system could be easily transformed with automation. However, our research study
identified that diverse user archetypes and technology behavior was an important factor in why the current process failed to
support their needs.
INSIGHTS
Responsive critical careThe opportunity for better healthcare has never been greater and as the leading GPO, MedAssets helps hospitals deliver the best possible care in a dynamic environment. So when one of their largest clients asked for help with an increasing workforce management challenge, they turned to experience design and mobile technology to bring efficiency to an antiquated process.

Personalized portal for contingency workforce
SOLUTION
By leveraging an increasingly mobile contingency workforce, we designed a portal that not only quickly onboards staff to their assigned floor but automates the typical time management checks and balances to ensure speedy processing and payment. This resulted in a “no line, no wait” experience for nursing and other temporary personnel during busy times and a confident administration team knowing they can focus their attention on saving lives.

Better design forhealthcare productsMedAssets is the largest domestic GPO serving 180 health systems and 4,200 hospitals. It’s strategy to drive more business through client-tailored solutions is known. But the key to it’s own success will rely on design to ensure long term success for both their clients and their patients.
Role: UX Architect
Given a multi-location and highly matrixed environment supporting very complex offerings, how do you lead the
organization down the path to institutionalize design?
Listening to both the client and their customers led us to focus on the overall portfolio and how they provide customer value. Our
discovery audits uncovered highly complex software and an opportunity to simplify the experience in a collaborative way.
