EARLY LIFE Bill Gates was born October 28, 1955 in

Seattle, Washington.

William H. Gates, Sr. and Mary Maxwell Gates are parents of Bill Gates.

Bill Gates is an American Business magnate, philanthropists and chairman of Microsoft, the software company.

Bill Gates and Paul Allen are very good friend and decide to established Microsoft.

WITHDRAWAL FROM MICROSOFT Gates on June 27, 2008 left his work at

Microsoft in order to devote himself to charity founded by himself.

Gates is one of the most famous entrepreneurs of the revolution of personal computers.

In computers of General Electric, where Gates and Allen had their first experiences, the language used was BASIC, the same as they used computers in school DEC. Within a few days, Bill Gates will contact the MITS, the company producing the Altair computer and proposes the creation of a specialized software for their computers.

The company accepts the proposal and Gates pitched frenzy in its creation. Within eight weeks of the new software is ready, all the while Allen makes a simulator of the Altair and goes to the company with the program at hand for the first test crowned by success.

Immediately following developments are rapid. The company buys the software, which is on the market called Altair Basic and April 1975, Gates and Allen founded the company Microsoft. At the same time sell BASIC created at Intel and NCR and employ them in their company two classmates, Mark McDonald (Marc MacDonald) and Rick Oueilant (Ric Weiland). In January 1979 Bill transfer all 16 employees in Seattle (Washington) and hires smart people who do not, however, no previous experience in similar position.

BILL & MELINDA GATES FOUNDATION

Bill Gates and his wife Melinda create the foundation “Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation”.

This foundation is a humanitarian organization that aims is to combat diseases like AIDS and malaria especially in the Third World.

The foundation has also received criticism because it invests the assets that it has not yet distributed with the exclusive goal of maximizing the. As a result, its investments include companies that have been criticized for worsening poverty in the same developing countries where the Foundation is attempting to relieve poverty. These include companies that pollute heavily and pharmaceutical companies that do not sell into the developing world.

In response to press criticism, the foundation announced in 2007 a review of its investments to assess social responsibility. It subsequently cancelled the review and stood by its policy of investing for maximum return, while using voting rights to influence company practices.
