The company con-tinues the longstanding tradition of Brno power engineering, dating back to 1824 when produced its first steam engine. HistoryIn 1814, Jan Reif, August Scholl, Bedřich Scholl and Kris-tian Memmert founded a company to manufacture tex-tile machinery and steam engines in Šlapanice u Brna. Between 1872 and 1993, the company bore the name První brněnská strojírna, a.s. (PBS). During the 1990s, it continued to operate under new ownership – first ABB, and then Alstom Power. In 2006, the Austrian company Austrian Energy & Environment AG bought the major part of the branch of industrial boilers.The company, which has now about 180 employees, has continued its business under the auspices of Bilfinger Power Systems GmbH Group since July 2011.

modernisation, repairs, performance enHancementEnhancing the performance of existing equipment and im-proving operational characteristics – to make them more environmentally friendly and increase plant availability – is an integral part of the Bilfinger Babcock CZ’s product portfolio. The core scope of activities in this area is the com-plete rehabilitation and modernization of boilers and heat-ing plants, as well as repairs and replacement of damaged parts or parts at the end of service life. The company has excellent competence in NOx emission reduction where we offer, together with our sister companies, state-of-the-art solutions for primary measures like burners, OFA systems and complete fuel preparation.

tests and diagnosticsThe company also provides technical consultations and studies, inspections and overhauls of boilers, certified emission measurements, guarantee and operation meas-urements, diagnostics of boiler parts (detecting residual lifetimes) and the elaboration of economic analyses and solution proposals.

laser scanningBilfinger Babcock CZ offers real time solutions, which are necessary in today’s economy, through laser scanning. The shape and dimensions of the real device is transferred to a virtual computer model, and within a few minutes the three-dimensional digital imprint of the real space and equipment is available. These are formed by individual point clouds corresponding to a position of the laser scan-ner. These point clouds are then numerically processed, fil-tered, transformed and exported to the necessary formats.
