1 Järvsö Bergscykel ParkJärvsö Bergscykel Park is a bike park with cable lift biking! Dis-cover an entire mountain with exciting downhill cycling trails of all levels of difficulty – from the easiest level (green) to the more advanced (black). The trails have been constructed ma-nually or with the use of excavators with natural hinders as well as those that have been specially constructed throughout the area. There are also built-in obstacles and aids such as bridges and flyovers. Besides our ten trails, we also have a dirt park and a pump track. Welcome to Järvsö Bergscykel Park – we offer downhill cycling for everybody!

3 Högbo Mountainbike ArenaAt Högbo Brukshotell outdoor activities are in focus, as a complement to high quality food and beverages. In spring 2015 a brand new mountain bike arena opened, and was an immediate success. In total there are 120 kilometers divided into 12 diffe-rent trails. Off course there’s biking for both beginners and advanced bikers. Visitors can rent bikes at Högbo Brukshotell, and it’s also possible to book an instructor. At Högbo Bruk there’s also excellent canoeing, swimming and bathing, a 27 hole golf course and much more.

4 Svartådalen Self Guided Bike TourRiding a bicycle is a real pleasure in the Swedish country side and cycling through the area of Svartådalen (“The Black River Valley”) will ease your mind and body. With almost no traffic you will be able to fully enjoy the beautiful scenery along the local gravel roads, through forests and cattle grounds and past lakes. This bicycle tour brings you from Edens Garden B&B and Tourist Activities to the 300 year old health spa Sätra Brunn and the picturesque village of Fläckebo. 7 Abbas mountainbike adventure At Abbas Stugby & Camping you can make your day complete by heading out on the marked trails on the bike. Together with a guide you can explore some of the best mountainbike tracks in the beautiful nature around Vägsjöfors. The tour takes about 4-5 hours. The MTB trails in the area have a total length of 180 km and go through varied terrain. All tracks can be reached by the 100 km long main trail.

8 GrenserittetGrenserittet is one of the biggest MTB bike race in Scandina-via with 6000 participants. The cyckling event suits families, beginners and experienced bike riders. Grenserittet is most known for its 80km track that starts in Strömstad (Sweden) and finishes at Fredriksten Fortress in Halden (Norway). You will experience a fun track full of variation and great scenery and the best of all a folk feast and a fantastic atmosphere filled with lots of cheering. In addition to the 80km, there is a 40km track where also youngsters (13-16 years) can enjoy alongside those wanting a shorter track and the el-bikers. Children from 3 to 12 years can join a smaller and fun track at Fredriksten Fortress. Grenserittet is arranged the first weekend in august every year (5-6 aug 2016). We hope to see you there!

9 Birken – World s largest MTB raceBirkebeinerrittet is the world s largest MTB event. 17000 bikers enjoy the 94 km race every year. The course brings you through impressive sceneries of mountains and valleys from the village of Rena and its forests to the Olympic city of Lillehammer over two main tops. 10 Cycling around the Oslofjord Bring your bike and be surprised and charmed by the Oslofjords many small treasure towns.

Fredrikstad – Moss/Son 53 km or 63 kmThe cycling route out of Fredrikstad follows the fjord to Vikene, where you see Hankø on the other side of the strait. Further on you follow; Sykkelvei 1, past many cozy small places with possi-bilities of detours to Saltnes and Larkollen. You arrive in Moss through Fuglevik and the bike path along the coast. In Moss, we recommend cycling along the canal separating the city center and the island of Jeløya. From Moss you follow the bike path through the woods of Kambo to the picturesque town Son.

Moss/Son – Drøbak – (+buss or boat to Oslo) 36 or 26 km (continuing to Nesodden add another 30 km)Leaving Son there are several routes to chose from. A hilly route via the hidden gem of a small coast town Hvitsten or an easier inland route through Hølen and Vestby. In Hvitsten you can go swimming and visit the ecological farm and cultural center Ramme Gård. Hølen is a charming town with an exciting histo-ry. In Vestby you can visit the best regional shopping center with outlet stores for many major brands. Both routs lead to Drøbak where the aquarium and all year Christmas house is situated. Take a break and enjoy walking around the idyllic small streets of Drøbak. The rest of the path to Nesoddtangen is hilly and it is possible to take a boat or bus back to Oslo at this point. What do I need to consider before I travel and how do I get to Norway?

Norway is a vast country and the best way to get around is by car. From the south of Østfold to the north of Hedmark the distance is about 500 km. If you are planning to visit the western parts of The Middle of Scandi-navia, you can fly to Oslo and Gardermoen airport, Rygge airport or Karlstad airport (via Frankfurt). It will take about 2 hours to travel by car from Oslo to Sweden and Värmland. If you are travelling by car, you can arrive in Oslo via ferry connections from Kiel, Fredrikshavn and Copenhagen.

What do I need to consider before I travel and how do I get to Sweden?

From Gävle, on the east coast, to the Norwegian border in the west, the distance is about 400 kilometres. The easiest way to get around is by car. If you travel by car, there is a bridge between Denmark and Sweden or ferryconnections for example to Gothenburg. If you prefer to fly to Sweden and arrive at Stockholm Arlanda airport, you are near the eastern parts of the Middle of Scandinavia. If you are going to visit the western parts, we recommend you to fly to Karlstad (via Frankfurt), Oslo and Gardermoen airport or Moss Rygge airport.
