Brainwashing?

Political language -- and with variations this is true of all political parties, from Conservatives to Anarchists -- is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.George Orwell, "Politics and the English Language", 1946English essayist, novelist, & satirist (1903 - 1950) (Example: “Two-Minute Hate”)

Aw jeez Kathleen, why are you

picking on me? I quit school just so I

wouldn't have to answer these ding-dong

questions. First of all, if you want to remain

unique, don't share your Social Security

Number with anyone. If that is not good

enough; eat, drink, and be merry and

become the fat lady in the circus. That's

sort of unique. Huh?

Page 25: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

Seriously, the only thing that is

important is to find your life's work doing

something that you really enjoy. And

then work really hard at it, doing the very

best you can. I mean really sweat the hard

stuff. That means you will sometime have to

forego certain pleasures and activities that

would keep you from completing your work.

Then be honest and truthful and you will

earn the respect of your family and

neighbors. And never regret not being the

most important guy on the block.

Page 26: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

Don't worry about your civil rights.

We have more of these now than when I

was growing up. The Cops never had to

read me my Miranda Rights if they picked

me up for stealing a car when I was a kid.

They do now, and if you get a good lawyer,

you might get off with probation. I think that

it is more important for people to

understand the responsibilities of being a

good citizen and accept the duties and

discipline that are required to maintain an

orderly society.

Page 27: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

Is America still a democracy?

Compared to ancient Athens it is. In that

particular time and place, women, slaves,

and certain servants couldn't vote. However,

it probably isn't the pure democracy that

was practiced in Iceland hundreds of years

ago. In that place and time (about the year

930 AD) everyone met at the "Athing", an

open air meeting, known as Thingvellir. Here

they made new laws and dealt with

complaints. But it was really cold standing

out in the open. At least we vote indoors

now.

Page 28: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

Does America still stand for freedom? Why is everyone in the world trying to get into this country? Right now we have to chase them away. That ought to answer that question. And are its beliefs still the same? The answer to that is no. Our beliefs have changed over the years. At one time back in the 1920's it was decided that all Alcoholic beverages would be prohibited. Then the country changed its mind. But, Moonshine is still illegal. However, that is why we have a constitution and a Supreme Court to decide which of our new beliefs reflect the ideas the founding fathers had of freedom.

Page 29: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

Personally, I am a Libertarian and believe

that the Government is way too big and that

there are too many rules and regulations.

But, unfortunately I am in the minority.

OK, that is the extent of the wisdom that I will

dispense for free. Good luck, and I am

warning you that if you use any of my

ideas you might not graduate.

What do you recommend I do to remain unique?

Always be you, as easy as it may seem to conform to what someone else thinks you should be, being what God intended is always right. And remember always to look for the good in people first, “When you look for the bad in mankind… expecting to find it… you surely will” -Abraham Lincoln

Page 32: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

How can I always live well and think for

myself?

First, always look at the world without

blinders! Many people walk around through

life with blinders on… like a horse being led,

no choice, and no peripheral vision… never

looking around them and seeing the beauty

of the world itself. I can guarantee if you

take the time to notice life around you, you

will be a well rounded and free thinking

individual.

Page 33: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

What is important in life?

God and family. Everything else will follow!

Page 34: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

Are we in danger of losing our civil

liberties?

Personally, anything can be lost… but the

true trick is how to regain what is lost! But

to answer more I feel compared to the past

and may other countries we have an

abundance of civil liberties and should hold

tight to keeping them.

Page 35: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

Is America too free? How much control is

necessary?

America is not “too” free, but maybe too

many people question what free is…

stamping their thoughts on the Constitution.

Trying to finagle it to read what they want it

to say. Our fore fathers stated what they

did for a reason and our country was and is

the most free, doing quite well by the words

written by these men and the many

sacrifices made in what would have been

termed as treason to the crown back then.

Page 36: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

Is America still a democracy?

Yes, we have our disagreements

and those will always exist in a free

democracy.

Page 37: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.
Page 38: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

To remain unique one must think

for one self. Assessing who you are is

nothing more than honestly looking at what

talents and gifts you have been given and

then using them in a manner you think

best. Pressure is everywhere -- reality

checks come hard at times, but to be

unique sometimes means paddling

upstream when the Armada is going with

the flow.

Page 39: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

How can I always live well, and think for

myself?

Look in the mirror. If you like the

person staring back as you, you are on

the right track. Read good literature --

especially the Bible. Strive for truth. As a

Christian listen for the leadings of the Holy

Spirit -- some compare this to conscience,

but in actuality it is more than that.

Humans can change their conscience.

Page 40: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

What is important in life?

Agape love. Love that brings us

to community and the caring for

others.

Page 41: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

Are we in danger in losing civil

liberties?

Yes. We have no privacy

anymore. Big brother is

watching. In the name of peace

and protection we have

voluntarily given our identities to

the government. Scary!

Page 42: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

Is America too free? How much control is

necessary?

We have always been free under

the law. So the question is has the law and

its premise changed? We know it has.

The more we educate the public the less

necessity of control lessens. Ask the

migrant workers if they are free? Ask the

poor if they are free? There is a high cost

for freedom and it begins at home. If the

rich get richer and the poor get poorer we

will build more prisons.

Page 43: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

Is America still a democracy?

We have a democratic

process, but that is not your

question. A democracy only exists

if the people are able to and willing

to vote their minds. This also

means the elected must listen to all

of their constituents. I am not

painting a pretty picture!

Page 44: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

In your opinion does America still

stand for freedom?

We stand for it and we are

the best in the world at it, however

we do not extend it to all Americans.

We are biased and prejudiced and

we will pay a dear price for our

bigotry.

Page 45: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

Has its beliefs still stayed the same?

No. In some ways we have gotten better. Slavery has been abolished the rights of women and other oppressed peoples have gotten better. A problem one of many is that our social ethic has not kept of with the J curve of the 21st Century.

Page 46: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.
Page 47: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

What do you recommend I do to remain

unique?

I don’t believe one has to do

anything to remaining unique. One takes on

natural bettering and will retain the essence

of one.

Page 48: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

How can I always live well, and think of

myself?

Be honest with everyone and

yourself, I believe also that you will

better know what you need to sustain

and take care for your fruition.

Page 49: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

What is important in life?

For me, it is to know that God

is. Knowing that without Him, I am

nothing; and that without His

wisdom, I don’t choose so wisely.

God & His wisdom would equate to

what is important to my life.

Page 50: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

Are we in danger of loosing civil

liberties?

To the best of my knowledge,

there is always a threat of loosing

something if we don’t hold onto and

protect it!

Page 51: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

Is America too free?

How much control is

necessary?I believe that we are less

free than we think we are. The most

control necessary would be self-

control as in respect for others, our

country and the earth.

Page 52: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

Is America still a democracy?

Less so as bigger companies

decide for us through their lobbyists

who work the direction of legislation

for their ends. Less gets decided by

a majority of the people.

Page 53: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

In your opinion, does America still

stand for freedom?

By our constitution, yes! By

some of our country’s actions both

here and abroad, we have good

reason to wonder.

Page 54: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

Has its beliefs remained the same?

Is it like how powerful we need to be, what we need to control, what country’s population should live differently, who we take care of and who we block plans for? I don’t think I know that answer. Better question may be “How long have we held our present beliefs?”

Page 55: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.
Page 56: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

What do you recommend I do to

remain unique?

Keep these three things foremost in

your heart and mind: God, country

and family. If you keep these

guiding principals, you will truly

stand out.

Page 57: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

How can I always live well and think for

myself?

Eat food that will make and keep you

healthy and exercise for enjoyment and to

keep your body limber. Keep to your core

principals, when there is a problem to be

solved, use analytical and scientific

approaches, but if that fails don’t be afraid

to use your heart.

Page 58: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

What is important in life?

Love of God, love of country and

love of family.

Page 59: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

Are we in danger of losing our civil

liberties?

Only if we lose the will to fight those ideals

that threaten our way of life on a daily

basis. Keep a sharp eye on the

socialistic godless lunatic ideals the left

truly believes it needs to impose on the

rest of us.

Page 60: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

Is America too free? How much control is

necessary?

We have the freedoms we need and all the

control that is needed is in the Constitution

and Bill of Rights.

Page 61: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

Is America still a democracy?

Very much so, it’s in our very fiber.

Page 62: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

In your opinion does America still

stand for freedom?

Of coarse! Look at all who flock

here to start a new life.

Page 63: Big BrotherDick Cheney We must be prepared to face our responsibilities and be willing to use force if necessary. Dick CheneyDick Cheney.

Has its beliefs still stayed the same?

It is a constant struggle to keep our

children and new comers educated

in the American way and we must

remember our beliefs are what keep

us free.

ConclusionsConclusions

• Like a frog in a pan of water on a stove, we are unconscious of so many changes around us, because they change so slowly we don’t take notice of them.

• Very soon they will crank the heat up, and hopefully we will notice the government’s oppression to reduce our freedoms significantly.

• We, the people of our country, must never turn our backs on our leaders. We should not confide so much trust in them that they would be empowered to become corrupt without us knowing and allowed to pull the rug out from under us so fast we don’t even know it is gone.

• If we quit thinking and questioning, we could lose a lot more than our minds!
