spain is one of the world’s most exciting wine regions. from traditional sherries and rioja, right through to young wine-makers making modern wines in up and coming regions, there’s so much quality. we are proud to offer nothing but spanish wine across the board.

the country’s sparkling wines are buzzing with incredible quality at great prices, and small producers are making exquisite examples. you can also enjoy these at a fraction of the price of a bottle of similar quality champagne.

we offer a wide range with something for everyone, from great, easy-going options to exquisite gems for special occasions.

productionAll cava is made in the método tradicional (as with Champagne), then fermented in deep underground caves; this is where the name cava comes from. This takes time, but results in some wonderful, complex wines and great variety..

Cava can come from many different regions of Spain, but 95% comes from Penedès in Catalunya. Not all Spanish sparkling wine is labelled as cava, as some producers decide not to have the word ‘cava’ on their wines.

stylesJoven—minimum 9 months agedReserva—minimum 15 months ageingGran Reserva—minimum 30 months ageing

Cava can also be categorised according to sugar levels. Brut nature and brut—the driest styles Demi-sec—medium Dulce—sweetest style

grapesA wide variety of grapes are used to make modern cavas including Macabeo, Parellada, Xarel-lo, Chardonnay, Pinot noir, Trepat, Garnacha, Monastrell and Malvasia. This gives great variety and individuality across hundreds of different producers.
