    SUPER

    SCIENCERED NOSES AT

THE READY!BY THOMAS BEASLEY-EADES, LUCY BOURNE& ISABELLE HARMAN

On the 15th March, it was time to get

the red noses on and have a great time

    raising money for Comic Relief!

We all came in red clothes and some of

the Year 5 girls painted peoples nails,

sprayed hair, did tattoos and face paint

and guess the name of the baby.We also did some fun activities in as-

sembly and it was teachers against

    school councillors!! The competitions

    included

    how many

    clothes can

    you fit on as

    fast as you

    can, then

    ring the

    bell? Whocan eat the

    most dry

    crackers?

    Can you fit

    loads of

    Maltesers in

your mouth then say fluffy bunny? It

was so funny!Sebastian Armstrong even entertained

everyone with his act juggling red noses! All the money raised for Comic Reliefwill go to help people who are not as

lucky as us, like giving people in Africa

a better life, clean water and houses.

The money can prevent them from get-

ting malaria, and help them to live a

longer life. If you watched it on the telly,

you could see all the daring challenges

normal people and celebrities did like

Jessie Jay shaving off her hair! But its agreat cause so they knew they had made

the right decision and we are glad that

    we at Bickerton helped too!

Some children from Year 4, 5 and 6 went on a

wonderful trip to perform at the Young Voices

    concert at the Manchester arena.

They had been practising and practising for a few

months and it took a while to learn all the songs anddance moves. At the concert, they performed with

thousands of other children and some special acts.

We have asked a few people for their opinions about

    it:

Mrs Boothby went for the very first time and she

said I thought it was amazing!! A once in a life time

opportunity and a great atmosphere! The practice in

the afternoon was hard work, but totally worth it be-

cause then, we got to sing with loads of other people

and schools. The best thing was when they turned the

lights of and all you could see was the torches. Mag-

    ic!

We also asked Sashas mum Elizabeth Price some

    questions:

    Did you enjoy it?

    Yes it was great.

    Did you like the songs?

    Yes they were brill.

What was the best part of the night?

    When the lights went out.

What was your favourite act?I liked the African childrens choir.

We also asked Mrs. Chesworth some questions:

    How was it?

    Fantastic as usual.

    What was your best song?

Musical memories and all of them! The taking part

    was the best bit.

    What was the hardest part?

    The practising!

Thank you so much Mrs. Tedham for organising it and

Class 4 took part in a dance festival onWednesday 13

    thMarch and Thursday 14

    th

March at Bishop Heber. They based it on South Africa because of ourlink activities with Tiger Kloof school this year.It was a wonderful dance called Safari and wehad learnt it with Mrs Parsons. We performed itwearing coloured T-shirts and lots of other

schools from the area took part. On the firstnight they called us Tushingham but luckily thenext night Mrs Parsons reminded her that wewere Bickerton and they got it right! On Thurs-day, we watched all the dances and Tom

thought that the chocolate one was the best andSasha and I thought the surfing in the UK dancewas the best! At the start of the whole dance, every school came on the stage with the bannerand ours was the best because it had lights on itfrom Young Voices.Mrs Parsons has also worked on a version of the

dance with the other classes in the school. She

said The children performed the dance beauti-

fully with no mistakes and we all had a great

time! Thanks to Mrs Chesworth and Mr Richard-

son for coming along to help too.
