description

BIC Sport was founded in 1979 by the Bich family of BIC pen fame. Passionate sailors and windsurfers, the family invested their technical expertise in manufacturing and plastics to the world of watersports. Our mission then and now is to build the most durable, high-quality watersports equipment on the planet at very reasonable prices. Over the last few seasons we’ve applied our 30 years of board manufacturing know-how to the new sport of Stand Up Paddling. The exceptional success of our affordable 11’4’’ ACS SUP helped make SUP accessible to all. This year we’ve added three new models to our SUP lineup: A 10’4’’ ACS model joins the 11’4’’ in our entry-level board range and we’ve added an 11’6’’ and 10’6’’ in our famous E-Comp construction technology, offering high-performance at a great price.

Combine an ultra-durable polyethylene outer shell (like a kayak but lighter weight) with a full polyurethane foam core (like a surfboard) and what do you get? The most durable board construction available, period. Thermoformed in steel molds to ensure consistent and accurate reproduction of the original shape. Proven and long lasting with great performance, we’ve been making recreational wind and surf boards like this since the 1980’s and many are still on the water today!

BIC Sport has pioneered epoxy technology in surf and windsurf boards since the 80s. Our exclusive E-Comp manufacturing process is ideally suited to building high-performance SUP boards. We wrap a custom molded EPS core/fiberglass/epoxy board in a thin yet extremely durable layer of thermoformed ASA* polymer. This creates stiff, lightweight boards that are 30% more durable than standard epoxy boards.*ASA (Acrylonitrile Styrene Acrylate) is a copolymer based material with high impact and scratch resistant protection as well as remarkable resistance to degradation and discoloration from prolonged exposure to sunlight, heat, rain and common chemicals.
