Although the history of trapped eleotrono In glasses is quite old, gyatematlo studios on electrons in frozen moloonlsr aggregates started only in the early sixties. In the following list, we have not included references related to eleotrons in color oenters or negative long. We have focused on exoeas olootrons In phyaloal traps in both organlo and aqueous glasses. While relevant studies on both amorphous alkaline and soldlo lees have been included, work on crystalline ice end other inorganic glasses such as ailloates, borates eta, has been Ignored. In addition we have omitted reports concerning eleotrou scavenging which did not include gpeolflo characterization of the trapped electron. The present bibliography is expected to be reasonably oomplete through the end of 1980. ~ae initial sot of papers was obtained from the RCI)C bibllographlo data base I by three searches, one for car spectre or oar techniques, a second for absorption npeot~e and • third for electron mobility or mobility or elootrlcal oonduotlvity. Each of the three searches was logically ended with the result of [disorder or glass or glass, inorganic or glass, organlo] and [excess electrons or eolveted eleotrons or trapped electrons or mobile electrons or queslfroe electrons or localized eleotrona or free electrons or dry eleotrons]. When this list was examined several papers wore removed as not being within the Intended focus. Additional references were obtained from inspection of individual authors' flies end from oltod referenoes, including a number of review articles. The resulting set of papers are listed by the topi,~s optical spectra, mobility, ear and miscellaneous. Several papers oould be listed in more than one topic but appear only In the first of these topics. The references are listed in approximately chronological order, grouped by year of publication. * The roferenoes are predominantly Journal artioles, although a few oonference papers are included, as well am several reviews ~ticlt have appeared as chapters in books.
