Biblical Hebrew Learn the language of the Old Testament! A nine-month beginner course for the ICOC Philippine Family of Churches Overview The APLA Biblical Hebrew Basics (HEB1) course runs roughly for 9 months. It is an undergraduate level course using a textbook and format used in typical seminaries. The material is taken from the course entitled “OT610” at Rocky Mountain School of Ministry and Theology. The material for the subsequent course, OT611 (Biblical Hebrew Grammar), will be offered in 2021. HEB1 is available for credit only. No students will be accepted for audit. Although most Filipinos are bilingual, the nuances of learning an ancient language require an above-average command of English (e.g., topics such as subject-verb agreement and identifying parts of speech). Thus the initial weeks will be devoted to reviewing the English language. Students must pass their Basic English Grammar Exams to move on.
