While Jesus was teaching a group of people, a religious leader quoted the commandment, “You shall love your neighbor as yourself” (Luke 10:27, paraphrased). He then asked Jesus,
“Who is my neighbor?”
With the story of the Good Samaritan, Jesus taught that our neighbor
is anyone who needs our help—regardless of their race, religion,
nationality, or condition.
