CLIMATE• The average rainfall in Biak-na-Bato is around 50
to 260 inches (125 to 660 cm.) yearly.• With annual rainfall exceeding 2000 mm.,
precipitation is evenly distributed throughout the year.
• The temperature in Biak-na-Bato has an average of 20-25°C and it varies little throughout the year.
• The average temperatures of the three warmest and three coldest months do not differ by more than 5° in Biak-na-Bato.

FLORA• In Biak-na-Bato, Flora is highly diverse.
One square kilometer can contain as much as 100 trees of the same species or of different species.
• Trees are 25-35 m tall, with buttressed trunks and shallow roots, mostly evergreen, with large dark green leaves.
• Plants like orchids, bromeliads, vines (lianas), ferns, mosses, and palms are present in Biak-na-Bato.

•Palms were used as a symbol of triumph and victory in pre-Christian time.

FAUNAThe Fauna
in Biak-na-Bato is composed of numerous animals like bats, lizards, eagles, wild boars, insects, birds, etc.
Bats• Scientific Name: Chiroptera• It is a flying mammal. They are different from
birds because of their sharp teeth.
Wild Boar• Scientific Name: Sus scrofa Linnaeus• Their body is compact and their head is large.
Their legs are short.
Monitor Lizard• Scientific Name: Varanus indicus• They are large reptiles. They have long necks
and powerful tails claws. Some are terrestrial and some are aquatic.

SIGNIFICANCEThe significance of Biak-na-Bato is not only
seen as a place. Some people tend to see Biak-na-Bato as a significant place because many events took place in here during Aguinaldo’s regime. That isn’t the only reason why we should see Biak-na-Bato significant. We should also take a deeper look on it. Many of our fellow Filipinos live because of what Biak-na-Bato is giving them. They sustain their daily needs because of this place. They use this as a tourist spot. They get their food from the trees around them. They take care of their animals here and they live in Biak-na-Bato. Their lives are dependent in this biome.
