Client operates more than 300 clinics nationwide for several fortune 500 companies. Client uses a variety of ambulatory EMRs (e.g. Allscripts Touchworks) and Practice Management systems at its clinics, performs health risk assessments (HRAs) of employee population and collects detailed claims and medication history from health plans, TPAs and PBMs. CitiusTech was selected to design and build a comprehen- sive business intelligence platform to maximise value of information from these disparate sources. CitiusTech Solution Assessment CitiusTech conducted a comprehensive assessment of reporting and analysis needs of all key stakeholders by interviewing business executives, managers, analysts, physicians, nurses and client's customers. The solution demanded real time reports and easy analysis for: • Administrators to assess and plan clinic utilization (e.g. visits, procedures) • Clinicians to improve care management of chronic diseases and wellness programs • Medical operations to measure and execute care guidelines and quality improvement • Employers health and impact of wellness and disease management. Solution Architecture The solution was designed to deliver flexibility, robustness and ease of maintenance. It includes a global transaction base that is based on the industry standard HL7 v3 Reference Information Model (RIM). Microsoft SQL Server platform and associated services were used (MS Integration Services, Analysis Services and Reporting Services) to deliver a scalable solution. A web based user interface and portal provided easy and secure access to all stakeholders. Development and Deployment The CitiusTech team consisted of professionals with a strong understanding of healthcare workflows, applica- tions and technologies. Additionally, Experts in ETL and data warehousing technologies, reporting services and UI design were employed to deliver a comprehensive solution in multiple releases over 6 months. The solution was deployed across customers of role based dashboards and solution management UI. Value Delivered The CitiusTech solution delivered significant ROI within months of investments. The areas of value include: • Significant productivity savings across administrative and clinical staff through easy access to reports. • Improved customer (employers) satisfaction through enhanced visibility of employee health. • Increased revenue potential by providing customers with a more accurate analysis on the value of service delivered. • Better patient outcomes through improved care management.
