WHAT IS KEY CLUB?- WE DO NOT MAKE KEYS! The “KEY” in Key Club stands for Kiwanis

Educates Youth!- Key Club is the largest international student-led organization.- Provides it’s members with opportunities to provide service, build

character and develop leadership.- We serve our school and community by doing volunteer work.

Examples: cleaning up parks, organizing food drives, going to walks for causes, raising money for causes etc.

- Our motto is Caring, Our Way of Life!- Key Club is the largest club in Bayside High School!

DUESIn order to become a Key Club Member, you must pay your dues. Dues are $15. You must also buy an S.O card to join any teams or clubs! S.O cards are $5. You can purchase them in the S.O office. They will also give you discounts when purchasing tickets for school events!International Dues: $6.00District Dues: $6.50BHSKC: $2.50Total: $15.00By paying these dues, you will receive a pin, membership card and handbook. This means that you are an official member of Key Club International. There are many benefits in doing so! This money does not go to us, the money that we get is for you key clubbers!

POINTS- Throughout the Key Club year, you

must obtain at least 100 points!- For each event that you attend, you

get a certain amount of points!- These points will determine who is

an “active key clubber” meaning that you go to many events and you’ve paid your dues. This will make you a “top member”.

- Top members and Key Clubbers who go above and beyond do get awarded for their service! These awards include the top members award, attendance in trips, prizes and more!

Point Breakdown:Walks: 10 points

AIDS Walk: 20 pointsDivisional Meetings: 10 points

Ronald McDonald House: 10 pointsAny other events: You will be notified

depending on what the event is and how many hours you serve!

BIRTHDAY CARDS

- We are nice people and we care about our members a lot. We’re all like one big gigantic family!

- On your birthday, we will surprise you with a birthday card to wish you a happy birthday.

- We want all our members to feel like they are a part of this big loving family!

UPCOMING EVENTS

RONALD MCDONALD HOUSE

- October 5th,2013- Time: 9:00AM-12:00PM- Meet up at Flushing Library at

7:30AM. We will be leaving at 8AM.

- We will be cooking breakfast- 10 points- You must sign up for this event.

Only 10 members can attend.- You must pay $10 for this

event but this will include food for yourself!

LIGHT THE NIGHT- October 5th, 2013- 10 points- Time: 5:30PM till end time- Location: Forest Park- Meet up: Flushing Library at

4:00PM. We will be leaving at 4:30PM.

- Walk to support the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! Walk funds therapies and treatment advances for blood cancer patients!

OCTOBER FEST- October 6th,2013- Time: 9:00AM- Location: Fort Totten- NO MEETUP! Take the Q13 or

Q16 to the last stop.- 10 points- We will be helping with

running the activities for this event!

JDRF WALK- October 6th, 2013- Time: 8:30AM- Location: Flushing Meadow Park- Meet up: Flushing Library at 7:45AM. We will be leaving at

8:15AM.- Walk to cure diabetes!- 10 points

NEW YORK CARES DAY

- October 19th, 2013- 15 points- ONLY 20 members may

attend- Must get waver signed!- Location: PS 65 Q- The

Raymond York elementary School

- Meet up: Flushing Library at 7:30AM. We will be leaving at 8:00AM.

- Time: 9:30AM- 3:00PM

MAKING STRIDES AGAINST BREAST CANCER

- October 20th,2013- 10 points- Time: 10;00AM- Meet up: Flushing Library at

9:00AM. We will be leaving at 9:30AM.

- Location: Flushing Meadows Park

- Walk for Breast Cancer Awareness!

TOTTEN TROT 5K FOOT RACE- October 27th,2013- We will be helping with

assisting the race and setting up!

- Time: 9:00AM. Check in 7:30AM

- Location: Fort Totten- NO MEETUP. Q13 or Q16 last

stop!- If you’re interested in

running, you can sign up. It is $20 to run!

- 10 points

FALL RALLY- November 16th,2013- Location: Maspeth High School- Time 10AM-3PM- Meet up: Flushing Library at

8:00AM. We will leave at 8:30AM.

- This will be with Divisions 8a and 11 as well!

- It is highly recommended that members go to this event! It will teach you a lot especially if you want to run for higher office!

- Business professional clothing!
