Library Budget Vote and Trustee ElectionThe annual budget vote and Trustee election will be held at the library onTuesday, April 9, from 10 a.m. – 8:30 p.m. There are three Trustee positions available. Each term runs 5 years, and 2 terms may be served. As of this writing,the budget and candidates have not been finalized, but complete informationwill be available at the library and on our webpage by the time you are readingthis. We have loved seeing you at our programs, at our wonderful CentennialCelebration, and at the Circulation Desk. We hope to see you all here on votingday. We thank you for your support.

Annual Meeting of the Brookhaven Free Library The Annual Meeting of the Brookhaven Free Library will be held on Wednesday,March 27 at 7:00 p.m. Come learn what we have accomplished in the past yearand what our plans are for the year to come. The 2013-2014 operating budgetwill be presented, as well as the candidates for the Board of Trustees. This is alsothe evening we celebrate employee milestones. This year we have 6 importantanniversaries. Head of Children’s Services, Deb Domingos, has been here 25 short years! ONE ISLAND,ONE BOOK Long Island Reads is an Island-wide reading initiative. Eachspring, people in Nassau and Suffolk come together to readthe same book, participate in discussions of the selectionand enjoy related events in public libraries. The BrookhavenFree Library has complimentary copies of this year’s selec-tion, Sutton by J. R. Moehringer, for the first 20 patrons tosign up for the discussion, to be held on April 9.

If you haven’t been to the library lately,now would be a great time! Thanks to avery generous donation from Norman,Lucia and Jamie Nelson, we haveimproved our reading room. We arewholeheartedly grateful for their subsidyof our comfortable new furnishings andupgraded lighting.
