ICICI Manipal Academy of Banking and Insurance (IMA) is a joint venture of ICICI Bank and the

Manipal Group. The Academy has been set up to train selected personnel of ICICI Bank in order

to ensure that they are Industry Ready at the time of their graduation. The first campus was

established at Bangalore.

IMA provides fully residential programs to train selected Probationary Officers of ICICI Bank.

The training aims to impart functional knowledge of general management and specialized

knowledge of banking related subjects. The training emphasises on application of knowledge

as well as personal development and is supplemented with practical training in branches of

the bank.

ICICI Manipal Academy of Banking and Insurance currently conducts a one-year fully residen-

tial programme to train selected Probationary Officers of ICICI Bank.

The one year program is divided in to four trimesters, each a duration of 13 weeks. The first

trimester is an introduction to general management and banking related subjects. The second

trimester covers banking related subjects in further detail. In the third trimester, participants are

put through training on a specialized domain of banking assigned to them. The final trimester

consists of an internship at nominated branches of ICICI Bank.

VIDYADEEP CASE STUDY CONTEST

As part of Vidyadeep, a unique case-study contest was launched for the MBA students of SMU-DE, providing them a platform to showcase their problem solving skills and decision making abilities. The case study contest was a culmination of more than six weeks of activity and enthusiastic participation. Six teams from over 250 that participated were chosen and asked to present their solutions to distinguished academicians and industry experts. The winners received a prize of Rs. 75,000 from the Guest of Honour Sri Sam Pitroda, Advisor to the Prime Minister of India on Public Information, Infrastructure and Innovation. The first runners up received a prize money of Rs. 50,000 and the second runners up received a prize money of Rs. 25,000. The other finalists received consolation prizes of Rs.10,000.

Semester Fee : Rs.17,000/- per semester (inclusive of Exam Fee Rs.900/- & Alumni Fee Rs.100/-) or as revised from time.

Additional Fee:In addition to the Semester fees, an additional lateral entry fee of Rs.3,800/- (inclusive of examination fees) is payable by students opting for this scheme. Eligibility: Graduate with a minimum of three years experience in the Banking industry. Students will be given lateral entry into the second semester of the program. IDENTITY CARD

Students will be issued photo identity card by the University after admission is confirmed. Students are advised to keep their photo identity card safe till the completion of the program. Student must carry photo identity card at the time of Personal Contact Programs (PCP) and University term end examinations.

Dispatch of Self Learning Material (SLM)

Self Learning Material (SLM) for MBA in Banking & Finance has been designed by SMU-DE faculty with over a decade of experience in the banking industry. They have been regularly assisted by panel of experts and only after endorsement from both parties has the final material reached its conclusion.

Once a student’s admission is confirmed the university will courier the SLM semester wise to the address mentioned by the student in the correspondence address. In case of address change students should ensure that they keep the University informed in writing the same.

Program guide containing the syllabus and other guidelines detailing the syllabus and evaluation guidelines for Internal Assignments / Term End Examination & Project shall be sent along with first semester SLM to all students.

EduNxt is next-generation interactive learning system with all its easy to use applications will change the way students learn while they study MBA in Banking & Finance. COURSE DELIVERY MECHANISM

Assignments

Assignments are an integral component of program. The student can access assignments online on EduNxt and submit the same before the stipulated date. The completed assignments will be evaluated by the faculty and the marks scored by the students shall be submitted to the office of Students Evaluation for further process.

Personal Contact Programs (PCP)

The University will conduct Personal Contact Program for every semester prior to the term end examination. The Personal Contact Program will last for about a week for each semester. It’s an opportunity extended to the students to interact with faculty experts on a one-on-one basis, clear doubts and build contacts.University shall identify select locations at important hubs and a detailed schedule will be made available in the University website. The Personal Contact Program though not compulsory, is highly recommended, since they encourage interaction amongst the students and provide opportunity to clarify doubts related to the curriculum. Students will be given this facility on first-come first-basis.

Project Report

The student is required to undertake project as laid down in the Program Guide. Detail note and suggested titles shall be made available in the program guide. Completed project shall be sent to the University within dates mentioned for evaluation. Project evaluation is done by the University Academic Staff.

The assessment system has been conceived, developed and administered on a rigorous and fair basis to bring out the best in students and prepare them for challenging careers. A student's performance is based on the following parameters:

Internal Assignments submitted through EduNxt will carry 30% weightage on the final score. The term end examination conducted online and evaluated by the University, carries 70% weightage on the final score.

Continuous evaluation is done through assignments. In each subject, a student should secure at least 35% marks in the internal assignments and also in the University examinations and a consolidated average of 40% to be declared pass.

Term End Examination

The University conducted term end examination is held online. The examination is conducted twice every calendar year. The examination is held at select centers across the country.

- Details about the Examination schedule and Examination Centre details can be accessed through the website www.smude.edu.in.

- The Examination Centre will be different from the Verification Centre and eligible students will be given admit cards to appear in the examination.

- Students will have to produce the photo identity card and admit card to appear in the term-end examination.

- The examination pattern will be available in the program guide provided to the students.

- The results will be published on the website www.smude.edu.in and the marks card will be sent to the communication address mentioned in the application form.

If a student fails to appear for any scheduled examination or clear any of the papers, the student has to re-appear for the relevant paper by applying to the University along with the relevant fees, within the due date specified by the University.

Awarding of Degree

All successful students will be awarded their respective Diploma / Degree / PG Diploma / Master’s Degree by the University.
