Background BETS Consulting Services Ltd. is one of the leading consulting firms in Bangladesh. It started its
journey in the year 1979 as Bangladesh Engineering and Technological Services Ltd. (BETS). In the
year 2005 it renamed as BETS Consulting Services Ltd. (BETS).
BETS enjoys unique reputation in its fight against poverty, hunger and poor social context, where
BETS is a proud development partner providing appropriate and sustainable solutions for infrastructure
development through innovative technologies, affordable ideas, capacity building, proper policy
making, suitable institutional reforms and community participations.
Ever since its establishment in 1979, BETS has developed into a premier consultancy organisation
providing services from the stage of conceptualisation to planning, design and detailed engineering of
diverse discipline projects. Focusing on the need of clients, BETS has expanded its activities in

Trainings and transfer of technology has become one of the integral project components for most of the

Management The overall management of BETS rests on a Board of Management. All the Directors and General
Managers under Board of Management have proven qualification and experience with high level of
management capabilities. The management is familiar with the relevant development sectors of
national and international levels. The Board of Management convenes regularly to discuss policy
issues, project management and future course of activities.
Moreover, each and every Director/General Manager meets regularly with the senior division
professionals in order to identify and remove bottlenecks of the Department and discuss status of
different on-going projects and other relevant issues.
BETS management provides backstopping services to the projects including Quality Assurance,
Contractual Negotiations, Financial Management, Travel/Medical, Database Development, Project
Accounting, Report Production, etc.
In addition to that a fully developed Management Information System (MIS) is functional to generate
and provide required management information like status of ongoing projects, developing projects,
staff resources, inventories of documents, CVs, etc. The MIS is continuously updated to meet the
management requirement and to facilitate decision-making.

Recently BETS has completed Detailed Feasibility Study & Environment Impact Assessment of Haripur 150MW CCPP Project of Bangladesh Power Development Board (BPDB); Corporatization of Ashuganj Power Station Project of BPDB. BETS in association with Nippon Koei Co. Ltd. of Japan has completed the project of 230 KV Transmission Line and Substations under West Zone Power System Development Project of PGCB. Trainings and transfer of technology has become one of the integral project components for most of the projects undertaken by BETS. BETS education services covers curriculum development, information technology support, policy formulation and planning of education system
Over time BETS has established a sound track record in the design and implementation of training programs with particular focus on development of technical expertise geared towards Continuing Professional Development (CPD), Institutional Capacity Building and Human Resources Development (HRD).
