PRESS INFORMATION AA746 FreePitch Sensor for Angle Measurement Higher sensitivity for increased air gap The patented chip layout of the new Sensitec AA746 FreePitch sensor reflects the concentrated expertise of more than a decade. The sensors have been developed for applications where highly precise angle and position measurement must be executed in a flexible and cost-effective manner under difficult operating conditions. The new sensor has improved the well-known accuracy at low field strengths even further. This means that it can be used with large air gaps with comparatively weak magnetic scales or can be used to increase the permissible air gap between sensor and scale in existing applications. This is a particularly interesting feature for heavy duty applications in electrical motors and encoders. With a saturation field strength of 5 kA/m the sensor now achieves a better signal quality and higher accuracy than previous versions. The new AA746 will be available from Q4/2018 as bare die or in SMD package such as SO8 and LGA6. The patented chip layout of the new Sensitec AA746 FreePitch sensor reflects the concen-
trated expertise of more than a decade. The sensors have been developed for applications
where highly precise angle and position measurement must be executed in a flexible and
cost-effective manner under difficult operating conditions.
The new sensor has improved the well-known accuracy at low field strengths even further.
