To Live as Jesus Lived and Love as Jesus Loved

The International Student Fellowship Dinner was held in

Bethel’s Fellowship Hall on Saturday, January 29th from 6-9pm.

Bethel’s Missions Committee organized the event this year

while staying in communication with the ISF office at Case

Western Reserve University. The theme for the dinner was

architecture, and fliers advertising the dinner were emailed to and

distributed around Case. Regina P. headed up the

decorating and was joined in the process by Meredith N and

Chelsea and Polly M. Childcare was provided by Joan W

and her team.

Colors, maps and faces from around the world decorated the

walls to welcome all peoples and cultures to the event. Carol S

and Barb S led a creative event to see what kind of structure

each group would create using things like cardboard boxes,

packing tape, balloons, markers and paper. Everyone had a lot of

fun! Before the craft, God’s truth was briefly shared through some

simple, but entertaining magic tricks. Just before the conclusion

of the night, En, a Chinese graduate student shared her story

about how God had given her hope and purpose in her life after

she learned who He was when she visited Bethel Church with

Marilyn Herget. She encouraged the students to come to Christ

and begin a relationship with the One who would satisfy their

questions with Himself.

Decorations represented cultures around the world in a festive way to welcome the students.

Long tables were set for the meal and guests were seated amongst new friends.

Our magician tried some fun tricks– with Ethan as his assistant.

Some of the “magic tricks” were actually object lessons for how Christ died to save us from our sins.

After the magic show, the creative activity was announced. All the students were eager to work with their teams.

After receiving a few basic instructions, the students creativity was let lose. They worked in groups and had fun getting to know one another as they shared ideas and brainstormed about the different structures they aimed to create.

Smiles, laughing, and giggles demonstrated the happy mood of the group.

Messy tables produced fantastic creations... Plus a lot of communal fun.

After the creating, the students were able to share their projects with each other.
