Along with his not guilty plea, Wenkel told the court he would enter an alcohol treatment program Pacific. A holding penalty called against OHS on the next play stalled the momentum leading to another Indian possession before halftime. Six plays and 45 yards later, Rob- erts found the end zone again from 13 yards away with :28 left in the second. Moore’s kick doubled the Pacific lead to 14-0 as the first half drew to a close in Franklin County. Winning the opening coin toss and deferring to the second half, the Indians got the ball to start the half. Staying on the ground, Kelvin Klenke scored on a 5-yard TD run to increase Pacific’s lead to 21-0 with Moore’s kick near the halfway point of the third quarter. Starting their next go-round on Pacific • from page 17 offense at their eight, Owensville worked their rushing attack on the road. On second-and-nine, Ellis broke out for a 26-yard run that had 15 yards added to it on a horse collar penalty against the Indians. That moved the Dutchmen into Pacific territory on their 49. Three plays after Tayloe converted a third- and-seven, the Dutchmen senior running back got his team on the board with a 41-yard TD run with 3:31 left in the third quarter. Jesse Lowder’s extra point was wide left leaving OHS trailing 21-6. Employing some trickery, Lowder recovered the ensuing onside kick helping Owensville keep possession of the football. Six plays and 49 yards later, Tayloe found the end zone against from seven yards away at the 1:06 mark of the third quarter.Adding the two-point conversion, Tayloe cut the Pacific lead to 21-14. Leading the Dutchmen on the ground, Tayloe had 93 yards rushing on 16 carries and a pair of touchdowns. Trying another onside kick, Pacific recovered and started the fourth quarter with the football in the middle of the field. Converting a pair of third downs, Roberts hooked up with Jason Koepke on an 11-yard TD pass nearly two minutes into the fourth quarter. Moore’s kick gave Pacific their double-digit lead back at 28-14 with 10:08 remaining. “Our guys stepped up and made plays in the second half to help us get in the win column,” said Pacific head coach George Hinkle. “Ow- ensville has a talented group and they will continue to get better and improve.” Unable to pick up a first down the rest of the game, the Dutchmen saw the Indians rattle off 28 unanswered fourth quarter points bringing their search for the win column back to Dutchmen Field this Friday night against Union’s Wildcats at 7 p.m. Before kickoff, OHS senior football players, band members, cheerleaders and cross country runners will be recognized. Even before senior night activi- ties take place, there will also be one last chance to enjoy tail-great activities, food and drink courtesy of a number of area businesses.
