The trip

Toledo was founded more than 2000 years ago as it was established as an official Roman city in 192 BC. Today, Toledo is a UNESCO World Heritage site and is widely considered to be the architectural, artistic and historic heart of Spain. Students will follow in the footsteps of its early founders by wandering through Toledo’s medieval streets and visiting the 13th century Gothic Cathedral. Toledo is a diverse city that is a joy to discover.

Granada marks the end of our trip as we marvel at Spain’s iconic architecture in the Alhambra palace and Generalife gardens. A fine example of Moorish architecture, the Alhambra complex was built during the 14th century, towards the end of Islamic rule in Spain. Students get to explore the Catholic Monarchs’ tombs and some of their treasures at the Royal Chapel, and visit the picturesque Alcaicería quarter.
