Location Of Bermuda Triangle

The location of the Bermuda Triangle is around the east coast of Florida and Puerto Rico and also a little part of it is next to South Carolina.The Bermuda Triangle doesn't have an actual absolute location because it is so big but is in-between 80-90 degrees west and 30-20 degrees north.

Why This Place Is Famous ?

The Bermuda Triangle is famous for the disappearances of over 66 airplanes and ships. The most famous disappearance is an airplane called flight 19. The ship disappeared over 30 years ago and it hasn't been seen since. The Bermuda Triangle is a windy yet sunny place. Its temperature is usually around 60-100+ degrees. The Bermuda Triangle doesn't have distinct seasons. The Bermuda Triangle has winds that are normally around 10 miles m.p.h.

Myths Behind Bermuda Triangle

Bermuda Triangle, region of the western Atlantic Ocean that has become associated in the popular imagination with mysterious maritime disasters. Also known as the Devil's Triangle, the triangle-shaped area covers about 1,140,000 sq km between the island of Bermuda, the coast of southern Florida , and Puerto Rico. The incident that consolidated the reputation of the Bermuda Triangle was the disappearance in December 1945 of Flight 19, a training squadron of five U.S. Navy torpedo bombers. Aircraft that have disappeared in the area since this incident include a DC-3 carrying 27 passengers in 1948 and a C-124 Globe master with 53 passengers in 1951. Among the ships that have disappeared was the tanker ship Marine Sculpture Queen, which vanished with 39 men aboard in 1963.

Weather Pattern And Topography

The area is subject to violent and unexpected storms and weather changes. These short but intense storms can build up quickly, dissipate quickly, and go undetected by satellite surveillance. A waterspout is simply a tornado at sea that pulls water from the ocean surface thousands of feet into the sky. Other possible environmental effects include underwater earthquakes, as scientists have found a great deal of seismic activity in the area. Scientists have also spotted freak waves up to 100 feet high.

Scientific Studies

The triangle is an arbitrary shape, crudely marking out a corridor of Atlantic, stretching northward from West Indies, along North American seaboard, as far as Carolinas. Ships returning to Europe from parts south would sail north to Carolinas, then turn east for Europe, taking advantage of the prevailing wind direction across North Atlantic. A great deal more shipping traffic was found nearer the US coastline than towards empty centre of Atlantic. The Triangle also loosely conforms with course of Gulf Stream as it leaves West Indies, and has always been an area of volatile weather.

The Devil’s Triangle

The very phrase "Bermuda Triangle" has appeared only recently - it was coined by a fan of Spiritualism and esoteric Vincent Gaddis in 1964. By this toponym he meant an area located between the island of Puerto Rico, the Florida coast and Bermuda. According to the famous mystic of the last century, this area of the Atlantic became notorious due to the fact that hundreds of ships and aircraft disappeared there. Some ships, however, were found later, but without their crews and passengers.
