What is a myth ?

A myth is a traditional story, especially one concerning the early history of a people or explaining a natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings or events.

Bermuda’s myth• Oceanic zone where numerous disappearances were indicated.

(Ex: Flight19 - USS CYCLOPS)

• Its second designation is Devil's Triangle.

• Estimation 190 ships and 80 planes have disappeared.

• The number of disappearances isn’t so important in front of following risks :

- The surface (about 4 millions of km²) - The importance of the sea traffic in this zone - The importance of hydrate and methane’s deposits and the

tectonic activity of the region. - The weather, chaotic and unpredictable conditions under these

latitudes.

Flight 19

• The case of the Flight 19 is the most known. Indeed it is the disappearance which aroused the biggest interest.

• The disappearance of five fighter-bombers squadron.

• On December 5th, 1945 near the Florida.

• The base of Strong Lauderdale received a call from the lieutenant announcing that they were lost.

• A seaplane, left to their research, did not return either.

• The cause of the disappearance would be tie to the lieutenant Taylor who used to fly from his intuition.

USS Cyclops• One of the first stories connected to the Triangle legend and the most

famous ship lost.

• In 1918, the USS Cyclops which is a boat, disapeared with its 306 passengers. This is the heaviest loss of the Navy except fight.

• On March the 4th, the ship started in Baltimore to Brazil. It will never reappear.

• The most known hypothesis is the captain’s treason. Indeed, he might delivered the ship to the German.
