Operation Centers, MCC Rooms, Clean Rooms, etc. in all seismic zones

  • 2Bergvik company facts Bergvik was founded in 1970

Subsidiary in the USA since 2000,when Bergvik started to provide IsoFloor and seismic bracing for 14 ofCingular Wireless Network Operation Centers in California and Washington State.

Subsidiary in South Africa since 2007. Main customer MTN, Vodacom,Dimension Data and RSAWeb

Iso Floor raised floors are used by Operators such as Cingular, T-Mobile, MTN, Digicel, Telmex, Vivo, American Movil, Vodafone, Vodacom, Celtel, Areeva etc in more than 120countries around the world

Since 1993, Bergvik has been thesole global supplier of raised floorsand seismic bracing to Ericsson, the world leading Telecom Network provider

The fully automated 6000m2 factory in Bergvik, Sweden

  • 3Secure raised floor solutionsfor your Data Center

The right floor should be strong and modular

Bergvik, a world-renowned raised floor supplier, offers a series of raised flooring systems engineered for use in all seismic zones. Adapted to accommodate all types of equipment and designed with room to expand, the Iso Floor is a flexible, secure and cost competitive solution for your Data Center flooring needs.

    Proven mechanical strength

Bergvik has developed and adapted a series of three different raised floor designs to accommodate all seismic zones. To further verify all structural calculations, we submit the floor and bracing structures to dynamic full-scale laboratory tests in accordance with NEBS GR-63 and NEBS GR-2930.

  • 4Complete product packages

Bergvik raised floor system can be delivered as a complete package that includes standard options such as steplessbrackets and cable ladders to expedite installation and to securely organize cabling to and from the equipment.

Secure any OEM equipment in seismic zones

The Bergvik raised floor product package also offers secure solutions for any OEM equipment installed in the data center. Bergvik will provide a design proposal within 3-4 weeks following receipt of equipment drawings. After the order is approved, we can ship the custom seismic frames within four to six weeks.

    We deliver the total package

  • 5Conventional floors allow for 25% less equipment and are more difficult to service or supplement

As illustrated in these two photos, server racks mounted on conventional raised floors or pedestal floors use a 600 x 600 mm panel configuration with 1200 mm service aisles between equipment lineups.

This type of conventional raised flooring hasonly one panel configuration, which limit thenumber of server racks and UPS cabinets thatcan fit into the data center foot print.

Service aisle panels closest to the server racks are not removable, as shown in the lower photo. This makes it difficult to service and supplement the racks and cabinets with cablesand wires during both the initial installation and for future expansions.

  • 6Conventional floors can sometimes not be strong enough to support heavy equipment in UPS/Power - and Rectifier rooms etc.

As shown in the illustration, conventional raised floors or pedestal floors using a 600x600 mm panel and pedestal configuration does not have the lateral stability for high Finish Floor Height (FFH) or the mechanical strength to support heavy equipment.

In order to secure heavy equipment, special steel frames can be designed andordered separately for the raised floor by the customers, which minimizes flexibility, is time consuming and very expensive.

    .

  • 7Using a 900 mm wideservice aisle versus a 1200 mm aisle increases thenumber of server racks tofit in the data center by up to 25%.

Panels for all types of server racks, power and UPS cabinets can be madeto size.

  • 8Maximum cooling of Blade Servers can beprovided by special Bergvik solutions

The modular sub-structure design allowsfor mounting ofspecially designed airgrille panels, providing maximumcooling in the cold aisles.

The airgrille panelscomes with or without damper and in sizes: 600x600 mm and 800x600 mm. Or custom made sizes.

1200mm span between all pedestal supportsprovides twice the space for cabling

Congestion is a problem under standard raised floors having a 600 mm center between allpedestals. This makes itdifficult to use cable trays to separate powercables from fiber cables, etc.

The modular Iso Floordesign allows for 1200 mm span between allpedestals at UDL 10kN/m2. Higher loading will of course require pedestals to becloser together.

Bergviks floor design for NEBS Zone 1 2 offers the same stable construction as our base model but with additional reinforcements to accommodate a higher risk of seismic activity.

Strengthened with a 60 x 60 mm pedestal anchored to the sub-floor with steel plate connections between primary and secondary steel sections, the Iso Floor model fulfills the requirements for seismic reliability according to NEBS.

This floor has passed both calculated stress as well as dynamic full-scale tests in accordance with NEBS GR-63 and NEBS GR-2930.

The Bergvik raised floor designed for NEBS Zone 3-4 is the most secure product on the market today. The addition of solid bracing frames anchored to the concrete sub-floor provides the strength and stability to withstand severe seismic activity.

This Bergvik raised floor system fulfills all the requirements for seismic reliability according to NEBS. The frames have passed both calculated stress as well as dynamic full-scale tests in accordance with NEBS GR-63 and NEBS GR-2930.

Floor Heights available in 350 to 910 mm. Seismic bracing frames integrated with the raised floor have pre-torqued cross bracing rods, therefore no tightening isneeded following an earthquake.

Suitable for most applications, the standard panel consists of a 38 mm high density HD particleboard, moisture-resistant quality V313. The bottom side is laminated with aluminum. Standard panels weigh only 10 kg. Flame spread is 20 (class 1) in accordance with ASTM E84 / NFPA 266 / UL 723.

As an option we offer a high density, all non-combustible calcium sulphate panel if there are limitations on the amount of combustible materials to be used in accordance with e.g. local building codes.

    Extremely wear resistant

Easy to clean even the most difficult stains

Direct-laminated without glue, which could work loose.

Surface to ground resistivity: < 2x1011 Ohms at min 40% RH.

Other surface finishes such as vinyl, linoleum or carpet tiles are available upon request.

High loads on standard panel with minimum permanent deflection due to very high e-module

    Concentrated Load in aisle:

    P = 680 kg gives 4.7 mm temporary deflection

    P = 908 kg gives 6.1 mm temporary deflection

Permanent deflection after 5000 times = 0.1 mm.

    Rolling Load, CISCA Test:

    P = 272 kg using a 150 mm diam x 38 mmwide wheel.

Permanent deflection after 10000 passes = 0.2 mm.

When floor panels are removed and other surrounding panels shift (which will happen), the unique tapered panel edge design of the Iso Floor allows the removed panels to self adjust and go back flush to prevent tripping.

The thin edge trim gives thefloor an aesthetically pleasing appearance by making the panel edges virtually disappear into the flooring surface, while fully protecting the surface finish edge.

Features and Benefits: Iso Floor provide high lateral stability, meaning all panels can be removed without the risk of the floor shifting. The free-standing, high stability floor substructure doesnt need walls for support, allowing you to only plan for the space needed today, with room to expand.

25% more room for equipment in your Network Center will save money on the real estate investment.

Up to 70% less pedestal supports than conventional raised floors will provide lots of space for wiring, cable ladders etc.

Removal of all floor panels in equipment aisles are now possible since Bergvik produce custom size panels to your specification.

Open bottom access and/or perforated aisle panels allows for maximum cooling of Server racks. Airflow grilles with built-in fans directly in front of server racks can also be provided as an option.

Floor panel meets NFPA 75 chapter 5.4.2 for fire resistance. Flame spread is 20 (class 1). Test report can be provided upon request.

The all-bolted floor structure is sufficiently grounded by only two (2) grounding wires attached in opposite corners of the floor mechanics.

A 5 year warranty is what you can expect.
