Benthic zone The climate in the benthic zone is mainly cold. The benthic zone is so cold and filled with so much pressure you can explode. It is also very dark down there but I will tell you about that later. The benthic zone is cold because there’s not much sunlight to warm it up down there. That’s why the benthic zone is so cold. The location of the benthic zone is mostly at the bottom of the ocean way deep down. The benthic zones scientific name is bathypelagic. It is so deep down that no sunlight ever reaches it that’s why it’s so dark and cold. That is the location of the benthic zone, but you can never get the exact location. The adaptation in the benthic zone is very hard. Most of the animals glow in the dark to find their food. The small animals are faster because they need to swim from its prey. That’s why it’s hard to survive. That’s the adaptations in the benthic zone.
