MARATHON HEARTBREAKER

Benson Key Club teamed up with Benson’s

2015 Prom Committee and helped them

raise money for their prom at the

Heartbreaker Race in Hillsboro! There, Key

Clubbers assisted in managing water stations,

making sure the runners got their dose of

H2O. After all, the most important thing to

focus on during a race is not the distance—

but your health and how hydrated you are.

OFFICER ELECTIONS This year’s club elections were very exciting. The turn out for candidates was very

plentiful, especially the competition for the presidential position. We had two

candidates for treasurer, one candidate for secretary, one candidate for vice

president, and three candidates for president. All the candidates were very strong

applicants and you could tell they all truly had a passion for Key Club and were

more than capable for the positions they were running for. No matter which

candidates won for whichever position, it’d be a win-win situation for everyone.

KIWANIS DAY AT

DOERNBECHER Three of our Key Clubbers along with

some of David Douglas’ were able to

trek their way up to OHSU’s campus

and navigate their way to the Kiwanis

Day at Doernbecher event. There, we

watched many Kiwanis affiliated clubs

such as Builder’s Clubs, K-Kids, Key

Clubbers and Kiwanis clubs, too,

present donations of money for the

cancer research at Doernbecher. We

were also able to listen to a

presentation about the Kiwanis

Children’s Cancer Program (KCCP) and

how far they’ve come in helping

combat cancer! Cancer patients also

went up and shared their touching

stories about how they’ve survived thus

far and how cancer has afflicted them.

It was most definitely a meaningful and

heart-warming experience.

MEET THE OFFICERS

Hello everyone! My name's Victoria. I am your current bulletin editor and

incoming president! Allow me to tell you a little about myself. I'm currently

a sophomore and to be graduating with the class of 2016. My

favorite color is blue, I enjoy drawing and sleeping outside of my time

dedicated to school and volunteering, and I absolutely detest armpit

odor. I am actually very terrible at talking about myself and my interests,

if you couldn't tell. A good ten minutes of contemplating the question,

“Who am I? What do I like?” went into those last three sentences. My

goals for my term as president are to be more of a leader and not a

dictator, increase membership, participation, and make sure your

experience as a Key Clubber is simply fabulous. My views on a president’s

role is to be flexible, friendly, and professional, but above all is friendly. I

hope you guys can find me to be reliable, helpful, and trustworthy.

Should you ever need a helping hand, I’ll have both my hands offered to

you. I'm always open to suggestions, so don't be afraid to be blunt about

it to me. So long as we never forget to work together, I’m good with

anything. My motto is: alone, we are an individual. But together, we are

Key Club!

Hi Key Clubbers! I'm Yessica Martinez Mulet your future Vice President

and class of 2016. Being VP will be an extraordinary experience and

journey that I can't wait to take on. To tell you more about myself my

favorite color is pink, and I love jokes - even the bad ones. Some of my

goals are to get more volunteering opportunities and unify the club

more. I find a value in getting to know everyone and working more as

a team. Let's make this year count and have an amazing time. See

you soon Key Clubbers! :)

Hello, my name is Cynthia Aguilar, I am glad to say that I feel honored

to be serving as your next treasurer. As treasurer, aside from dealing

with club finances and fees, I would like to take an even bigger

role, your friend! We are key club, and we should act like it! I want to

be able to walk into a room and talk to whoever and whenever as if

we've known each other forever! It's important that everyone puts in as

much work as humanly possible, we are capable of being the best, so

why not try? My goals as a person is just to be successful, but what is

success? There's honestly not an exact answer, you could ask ten dif-

ferent people and you'd get ten different answers. But for me, success

is just being happy, healthy, and stable. I absolutely love playing sports!

If anyone would like to join me for a run, let me know, we can work

something out. I love Albert Einstein and I’m a boy band enthusiast, I

absolutely love fruits, all kinds! I'm not much of an interesting person, so

I'll leave you with my favorite quote of all time:

"Any man who can drive safely while kissing a pretty girl is simply

not giving the kiss the attention it deserves. " -Albert Einstein

MEET THE

AS MENTIONED EARLIER, BENSON KEY CLUB RECENTLY HAD ITS CLUB

ELECTIONS. HERE ARE YOUR NEW OFFICERS FOR THE 2014-15 TERM. THEIR TERM

WILL OFFICIALLY BEGIN IN APRIL, SO GET READY TO SEE MORE OF THEM.

CONGRATULATIONS, PRESIDENT VICTORIA BUI, VICE PRESIDENT YESSICA

MARTINEZ MULET, TREASURER CYNTHIA AGUILAR, EDITOR ANGIE MATLEY, AND

SECRETARY KIM LE.

Hi lovelies, I’m Evangeline Matley (or

Angie as most of you know me) and

I’m excited to be your incoming

2014-2015 bulletin editor! I promise

to represent our club well and dedi-

cate my skills as a writer and pho-

tographer to this position.. Some

scattered aspects about me; I play

guitar and ukulele, I’m an active

member in HOSA and plan on con-

tinuing my education at OHSU in

pursuit of becoming an obstetrician,

I tend to “go where the wind takes

me” easily moving from one task or

place to another, and I’d like to

think I’m a friendly person, so don’t

be afraid to chat it up. :)

Hey~! It's Kim. I'm going to

be your upcoming

secretary. I'm a freshman,

graduating with the class of

2017. I love food and

Korean dramas. I dislike

wasting food. I'm energetic

and fun once you get to

know me. My goal as

secretary is to help improve

our Key Club through many

ideas I have while also

having lots of fun! I'm very

open to anything so don't

be scared to just ask me for

anything. Hope to get to

know you all!
