Bangalore Rural, carved out from Bangalore District on 15th August 1986, hashistorically been a part of the Ganga and Nolamb Pallavas dynasties. Mankund, Manne(erstwhile Manyapura), and Gangavadi were towns of historical importance. It is rich indry farming crops such as ragi and mulberry, and supports urban Bangalore through thesupport of dairying, poultry farming and horticulture. Currently, it is one of the mostsought after investment destinations in the state.
