St. Anthonys Parrish Hall See message in bulletin Exalted Ruler, Ron James, has been out of the Lodge for several weeks due to his wifes illness and has been unable to participate in Lodge activities. The Lodge wants to thank DDGER Steve Lobdell and all of the outside guests that attended the DDGER visitation and dinner on October 16. The Lodge received positive accolades regarding the direction we are headed. We all enjoyed a delicious dinner provided by Keith Cool and we had 4 new members initiated. UPDATES AND REMINDERS The bar will no longer be open on Thursdays. Please come up and enjoy a beverage on Friday evenings between 4:00 and 8:00 P.M. through the month of November. A dinner honoring Veterans will be held Saturday, November 10. (note to Lodge Veteran s that received the invitation: The return envelope was not included in the invitation. Please call the Lodge to make reservations. Thanks.) The Veterans Memorial Remembrance Toast will be in the Lodge hall at 11:00 A.M. on November 11. Please come and toast all fallen Veterans. A Happy Thanksgiving is wished to all members. The Elks will be honoring the Lodge members who served in the armed forces on Friday, November 10. Lodge opens at 4:00 for

happy hour and dinner will be served at 6:00 P.M.

Cost is Free to Veterans—1/2 price ($7.00) to spouse or guest and $14.00 to all others guests. Even if you did not serve, please come join the Lodge to honor our member veterans.

It’s that time of year for the Great Heart of Elkdom to swell. When the Mt. Shasta Elks, in conjunction with the Mt. Shasta Community Resource Center and Great Northern Services, put together Christmas Charity Baskets for those in need. Adoption of a Basket this year is a tax deductible donation of $80.00. Of course, any amount will be great appreciated. The date of the Basket pick-up is Saturday, December 22 from 9:00 to 2:00. Monday, the 17th we will be picking up the food drive foods from Mt. Shasta Elementary and Sisson Elementary Schools. If you can provide a pickup truck and a few hours, please let the office know. We will be needing volunteers to help put these Baskets together the week of December 17th and on pick-up day, the 22nd. Please call the Lodge at 926-2138 or PER Chris Rehberg at 926-5350 to offer your help.

Please Join the Elks Lodge, along with other community sponsors, on December 1, 2018 at St. Anthony’s parish hall, to honor

and provide a holiday meal for all veterans, firepersons, peace officers, and public servants and their family members. Dinner will be provided

from 3:00—7:00 and will include turkey, ham, and all the side dishes that go along with a holiday meal.

Any member of the community is invited to attend at no cost.
