BELOSHAPE New Non-surgical Liposuction

what’s new

BeloShape is a non-invasive, body-shaping medical treatment that can yield faster, visible results with far less effort. It is a special and unique combination of treatments that melts fat and tightens the skin for overall shaping and firmness. It's also virtually pain-free.

The treatment combats fat and cellulite through the application of ultrasounds. The emission of ultrasound on the skin’s external surface produces pressure changes in the fluids surrounding the fat cells. This exceedingly high pressure destroys the fat cells. The fat content of these cells is naturally eliminated through the urinary and lymphatic systems.

BeloShape can create dramatic changes without the need for surgery. The treatment is ideal for people who want to shape up without effort. The session is expected to yield positive, unprec-edented results even during the first treatment when patients will likely notice an average reduction in body circumfer-ence.

ADVANTAGES

> Safe

> Does not require surgery

> Visible results in the first weeks of treatment

> Very useful in treatment of superficial fat and non-volu-metric fat accumulation

Sarah Geronimo, Claudine Barretto and Bea Alonzo

Ruffa Gutierrez

Donita Rose and Christine Bersola-Babao

TREATMENT DURATION

Each session lasts for 30 to 45 minutes depending on the areas treated.

It is applied directly onto the skin, after applying a conducting gel. Once the ultracavitation applica-tion is finished, an intense lymphatic drainage is recom-mended for at least 10 to 15 minutes.

The ideal number of sessions is between 3 to 5 performed every two weeks, depending on the problem areas.

Belo launches foundation

Belo turns 18 withGrand Venetian Ball

The Belo Medical Group launches the Ike and Nena Belo Foundation, a non-profit corporate charity meant to shape lives, with education, surgical assistance and environmental protection as its advocacies.

Dr. Vicki Belo, medical director of the Belo Medical Group, put up the foundation in honor of her parents, lawyer Enrique Belo and wife Florencia, who instilled in her the value of charitable giving.

The private foundation was created for the education of needy children, rehabilitation of burned victims, surgery of children with cleft palate and environmental awareness. The core advocacy is geared towards the physi-cal, mental and social welfare of the beneficiaries.

“The foundation carries the legacy of my parents and it is Belo's way of giving back after 18 years of being in the business,” Dr. Belo says. “We want to be part of shaping people's lives by fulfilling their goals and giving them a sense of value and satisfaction.”

Dr. Belo assures she will be on top of all the activities and charitable missions of foundation, which will include annual scholarship grants to poor but deserving students, community outreach, public service, medical missions, surgical assistance and environmental drives. -- Leah C. Salterio

Venus is the goddess of beauty. Venice is named after Venus.

The invite for Belo Medical Group's 18th anniversary party suggested a decadent Vene-tian theme which was carried out in the grand bash at the Rizal Ballroom of Makati Shangri-La Hotel.

The event came complete with the lavish costumes of ball gowns, hand-crafted masks, stilt walkers, jugglers, opera singers, well-chiseled models who posed as Greek gods, hunky gondoliers, harlequin-clad acrobats, a harpist, a town crier, ballet dancers, a beautiful Venus and handsome Adonis in the persons of young actress Anne Curtis and actor Ding-dong Dantes.

New York-based Broadway production designer and scenographer Toto Sicangco created the opulent stage, which provided the perfect backdrop for the Venetian party. Noted interior decorator Cynthia Almario dressed up the dining tables of the Rizal Ballroom and its foyer, complete with a gondola.

Rubby Sy’s Casa Mikael provided the Venetian centerpieces on the tables, as well as the color-ful masks and decoupage jewelry boxes with

Boticelli's Birth of Venus for giveaways.

The six-foot-tall, 18-tiered fondant cake was created by chefs Buddy Trinidad of Park Avenue Desserts and Penk Ching of Pastry Bin.

“Queen of Burlesque” Dita Von Teese was flown in from Paris to perform two of her famous dance routines – Bird of Paradise and Champagne Glass – which bookended the evening's program.

Local artists such as Regine Velasquez, Sarah Geronimo, Lani Misalucha, Billy Crawford, Mitch Valdez and Christian Bautista, added glitter to the event with their performances. Hosts were Edu Manzano and Iza Calzado.

Dr. Vicki Belo recently extended a helping hand to the Pink for Life Foundation, a non-profit charity organization that provides free chemotherapy sessions to breast cancer patients.

The fundraising event was the launch of two fabulous and exciting scents – the Scents for Life – that pledged support to battle breast cancer. Faith and Inspire, the essences that make a difference and help save lives, are manufactured by Bench, one of the country's leading brands.

Part of the proceeds from the sales of the colognes will benefit breast cancer patients under the Pink for Life Foundation. This is not only a big help for women in their fight against breast cancer, it also contributes in raising awareness about the disease.

Dr. Belo is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Pink for Life Foundation. Her fellow trustees are Irene Martel-Francisco, Dr. Diana Cua-Balcells, Sigalit Djemal, Mario Katigbak, Mons Romulo-Tantoco and Joy Wassmer.

Pink for Life has made a significant and lasting difference in the lives of breast cancer patients. To date, the foundation has helped over 200 survivors receive the much needed medications and treatment.

“We hope to let women know that breast cancer has a cure and that there will always be

hope for the sickness. We want to show everybody that there is life after breast cancer.”

-- DR. VICKI BELO

Guests wore the familiar pink ribbons during the event, attended by celebrities who also showed their support to the foundation. Karylle and Billy Crawford performed song numbers during the program, hosted by Korina Sanchez.

Dr. Belo's support to Pink for Life bolsters the charities done by the Ike and Nena Belo Foundation, which was launched last year to help shape lives. The core advocacy is geared towards the physical, mental and social welfare of the beneficiaries. Two years ago, Dr. Belo also donated proceeds of the clinic's beauty fair, Belo Beautiful Christmas, to Pink for Life.
