After defeat, representatives from several

colonies met to discuss threat of war.

They met in Albany New York

Benjamin Franklin presents a plan that says it

would be easier to defend all 13 colonies if they

united under one government

Colonists and King turned down the Albany plan.

At first colonists fought with little help from Britain

After they lost at Ft. Duquesne the British send in General Edward Braddock

He had problems

Bright red uniforms – seen easily

Marched in open fields so they could be attacked from forest

Used poor roads so artillery couldn’t be moved quickly. Took too long
