State Tournament

July 15-18, 2011

June 23rd, 2011 The Botetourt County Recreation Department and the Botetourt Sports Complex are extremely excited to host the 2011 Virginia Dixie Softball Debs and Belles State Tournament. The tournament will begin on Friday, July 15th, 2011 and games will be played at the Botetourt Sports Complex and Lord Botetourt High School Softball Field. Directions to the complex and high school facility are included within this packet. The admission fee per day is as follows: 6 years and under---free 7-12 years of age---$2.00 13 years and over---$3.00 A mandatory coaches meeting will be held at 3:00pm on Friday, July 15th, 2011 on the 2nd floor Tournament Operations Level of the Botetourt Sports Complex. All head coaches are required to attend this meeting. Opening ceremonies will be on Field 3 after the completion of all first round games, at approximately 7pm. FROM THE NORTH:

Traveling south on I-81, take Exit 150B (first 150 exit). Turn right onto U. S. Route 220 North, towards Fincastle. Travel 1.7 miles and turn left at the light onto Catawba Road (Route 779). Continue for 1.8 miles and turn right onto Etzler Road (672). Proceed down Etzler Road for .8 mile until you see the sign for Recreation Park at Greenfield, turn right, Botetourt Sports Complex on right. FROM THE SOUTH: Traveling north on I-81, take Exit 150B (second 150 exit), stay in the right hand lane on the exit ramp, go past the Travel Centers of America (truck stop) facility. At the stoplight, turn right onto U. S. Route 220 North, towards Fincastle. Travel 1.7 miles and turn left at the light onto Catawba Road (Route 779). Continue for 1.8 miles and turn right onto Etzler Road (672). Proceed down Etzler Road for .8 mile until you see the sign for Recreation Park at Greenfield, turn right, Botetourt Sports Complex on right. FROM THE EAST:

Traveling west on U. S. Route 460, turn right onto Alternate U. S. Route 220 (Cloverdale Road). After approximately 5 miles, go straight through the traffic light and continue on U. S. Route 220 North, towards Fincastle. Travel 1.7 miles and turn left at the light onto Catawba Road (Route 779). Continue for 1.8 miles and turn right onto Etzler Road (672). Proceed down Etzler Road for .8 mile until you see the sign for Recreation Park at Greenfield, turn right, Botetourt Sports Complex on right. FROM CLIFTON FORGE/COVINGTON:

Take U. S. Route 220 South through Iron Gate. Continue on toward Fincastle. After passing through the Town of Fincastle, go approximately 6.5 miles; turn right onto Catawba Road (Route 779). Continue for 1.8 miles and turn right onto Etzler Road (672). Proceed down Etzler Road for .8 mile until you see the sign for Recreation Park at Greenfield, turn right, Botetourt Sports Complex on right.

Botetourt Sports Complex Detour in Late June 6/8/2011

On or around June 20th the road fronting the Botetourt Sports Complex will be closed for the finish grading to the Etzler Road Project.

Please allow an extra 8 minutes for the 5 mile "Etzler Road Detour". It is anticipated the road will re-open by July 20. Detour signs will be posted taking you along the following route (from U.S. 220 North):

Continue on Route 779 (Catawba Road) past Etzler Road 2.9 miles.

Turn right on 630 (Blacksburg Road) and travel 1.0 miles.

Turn right on 672 (Etzler Road) and travel 2.0 miles.

Turn left on Preston Parkway into Greenfield Park. Botetourt Sports Complex on the right.
