The victim, her four week old infant son. The baby, dressed neatly in a night gown tied with ribbon, had been found by a passer-by floating in 8ft of water in an underground water tank located at the back of an abandoned house. Police were notified and Bella Ferguson was arrested at her employer’s house the same day .  Verdict, guilty. Sentence, death by hanging.
