O Variable: a factor that changes in an experiment in order to test a hypothesis.

O Control Group: the group in the experiment that does not change; "norm" group; constant; a variable is not applied to this group; standard of comparison (you compare all other groups to the control group)

O Experimental Group: a group whose conditions are changed or manipulated; the variable is applied to this group.
