China-Africa Friendship

Visiting Students Program

Chinese Government Scholarship-“China-Africa Friendship Program” is a new scholarship program set up by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China in 2019-2020 academic year to implement the commitment made by the leaders of China during the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in 2018. In order to promote China-Africa education cooperation, and to promote cultural and people-to-people exchange, this scholarship mainly sponsors young students from Africa countries to study in China.

This program is open for application now as a non-degree program, students come to China to study as visiting students.

Registration fee, tuition waiver, comprehensive medical insurance and free university dormitory. The univer-sity will provide the stipend (general visiting students: CNY 3,000 per month).

Language RequirementsTOEFL 80 (IBT) or IELTS 6.0 or pass English test and interview of BJTU

Applicants must be a citizen of Africa countries and be in good health.

The applicants must be a bachelor’s degree holder under the age of 45 when applying for the general visiting programs.

Note: Credits earned during the program can be recognized towards the same master program if students apply and get admitted as a master student within two years after completion of the courses.

Complete the online application procedure at the CSC Online Application System for Interna-tional Students at https://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn or http://www.campuschina.org, click “Application Online” to log in, choose Category “B”, finish and submit the completed application form online.The Agency Number of Beijing Jiaotong University is 10004.

Complete the online application procedure on BJTU International Student Application System (http://study.bjtu.edu.cn/). Select Chinese Government Scholarship, then select General visiting student to complete the application.

Important Notes

1. New scholarship students are required to register at Beijing Jiaotong University on the date specified on admission documents. Students who arrive late without getting approval from BJTU in advance will have their scholarship automatically canceled.2. Scholarship students are not allowed to change their major or study period.

1 Recommendation letter from current institution applicants are working in. *Please include the contact info of the recommendation institutions. State the applicant’s performance and its consent for applicant’s leave to study in China.

Two Academic Recommendation Letters*Written in Chinese or English. Applicants must submit two recommendation letters signed by a professor or an associate professor and their contact information.

A Study Plan or Research Proposal *Written in Chinese or English. This should be a minimum of 800 words with a detailed description of the contents or field information during the study in China.

Foreigner Physical Examination Form*The physical examinations must cover all of the items listed in the Foreigner Physical Examination Form. Also the test result should be attached to the form especially the blood test result. Incomplete forms or forms without the signature of the attending physician, or the official stamp of the hospital, or a sealed photograph of the applicant are considered as invalid. Please carefully plan your physical examination schedule as the result is valid for only 6 months.

9 Copy of valid TOEFL or IELTS Certificate *application of the English-taught programs.

Transportation Engineering(Railway Operation & Management)

The study program of Traffic and Transportation Engineering of Beijing Jiaotong University (BJTU) is based on the discipline of Traffic and Transportation Engineering, which is the most featured in BJTU. The disci-pline, with a history of 120 years, has had a global academic reputation and influence.

The teaching and research team participated in the whole process of the development of China railway, such as plateau railway (Qinghai-Tibet railway), heavy load railway (Datong-Qinhuangdao railway), high speed railway, railway technical improvement and speed increase.

Students admitted to the study Program of Traffic and Transportation Engineering will learn the basic theory and technical methods of railway operation and management.

Logistics EngineeringThe Study Program of Logistics Engineering is based on the Master program of Logistic Engineering which was initiated in 2004. In the past decade, it has developed a mature talent training mode and had a good reputation and strong competitiveness in China.
