Year 6 Autumn Term 2015
HomeworkWeekly spellings homework will be set which will be tested within classes. Regular English homework will be distributed with a focus upon reading comprehension and grammar.Maths homework will allocated regularly and will link to times tables, mental maths and the consolidation of classroom based learning.
Home Learning ProjectInvestigate any aspect of World War II that really grabs your attention. You must prepare and present something about it to the class, which could take on any format of your choice (for example: a booklet; a PowerPoint presentation; poetry; a song; a 1940’s style dance; a design model of a WWII aeroplane. The choice is yours so get creative!)ORResearch a painter who was active just prior to, during, or after the war. Create an artists copy of one of their pieces that appeals to you. You could visit an art gallery or museum to inspire you.
The deadline for Home Learning Projects is Thursday 3rd December.
SwimmingYear 6 will not be having scheduled swimming lessons until the Summer Term, when booster lessons will be provided for those that need them.
PE KitsA weekly PE slot has been allocated on Tuesdays. However where possible a further lesson may be slotted into the week, so as always please ensure that your child has appropriate clothing and footwear in school at all times.
LibraryThe children have now been allocated their reading records and books and are hopefully reading at home. The School Library will continue to be open after school on a Friday, and is also open during every lunchtime.
