my name. (Revelation 3:8)

When you study this out, “a little strength” could be put like this: “Because you are few in numbers and have limited resources”. Even though they were a small church, you know they were over comers. They kept the Word and did not deny his name. This kind of stead- fastness brought great re- ward. They were given an open door to the things of God. I believe God wants every

church to work, listen, and overcome. We are his chil- dren and we are to be the God-Kind of church.

wc out the de ,tails in IVOl\r red. He they - WOI get many years of enjoyment out of it. Liza Jane fell in love with the house the instant she saw it and knew she had made the right choice for her housewarming gifts. She could hardly wait to bring them in and present them to her father. Clarence had utilized the contrac- tor’s knowledge and connections with the area, to pick up some basic furniture that was needed for the house. He had asked each daughter to bring a set of bed cov- ers for the bedroom sets he had purchased. He had learned over the years, not to try to decorate because the women in his life would never be satisfied with his choices!

After touring the interior of the house, they walked out anta the porch. It was a warm September evening and the sun was just beginning to set for the day. “This has always been my favorite part of the day” Liza sighed. “Did you know that is it understood here in the mountains, that you do not step upon the porch unless invited to do so first?” asked her father. “It is a matter of showing respect that you recognize that you are a guest at their home” stated Clarence. Liza Jane thought about that for a minute and quickly decided that she liked that tradition! She walked back into the house and grabbed a bag she had brought with her. She pulled out several large scented candles and a new box of long matches. “ I really enjoy smelling candles out on my porch at home and 1 like to watch them flicker as I relax and listen to music” Liza Jane announced. “The music we will listen to my dear, will not be played on a radio, but will be nature’s music we hear” said her daddy. Liza Jane lit all the candles and they sat down on the porch to listen to nature. Within minutes, she could hear the mountain music. (Margaret Faye Hensley’s family is originally from Owsley County. The title of her book “A Simple Man” says it all. Look for the continuation of this column in the upcoming weeks in the Booneville Sentinel!)
